~Paige POV~
"Who are you texting?" my father yelled at me and holding my by my neck. "No...one," I tried to breath for air. He dropped me and said, "Who the hell is Reid?" he said referring to my phone. "I...don't....know...daddy," I said. "How many times do I have to tell you it's SIR!" He yelled and repetitively beat me with his belt. "I'm sorry!!!!" I yelled. My mom ran down the basement stairs grabbing my fathers hands, "Rob, stop!!!" she yelled. I lie on the basement ground blood running from my cheeks and my arms. My mom cradled me in my arms as my father spit on me and walked up stairs. I cried in my mom's arms and finally got ready for school.
I put on a long sleeve sweater and long ripped jeans. I put on my boots and wiped my cheeks with a baby-wipe and grabbed my backpack. Another day, another abusive father. "Paige, let's go," yelled my father. "Yes Sir," I yelled. I got into his car and looked at the rain drops roll down my window.
~Reid POV~
"Mom, I like this girl and I...don't know how to explain it but it feels like...she might be getting hurt," I said still wearing my pajama's. "Honey how do you know?" she asked me. "When I first met her she had this bruise on her eye, then the other day on her arm and her wrists," I said. My mom hugged me and said, "I'm sorry honey."
My mom drove us to school and I saw the same white convertible and Paige getting out of it. "Why is she wearing a sweater in the spring?" I thought to myself. "Paige!" I whispered loudly as she walked past me. She ignored me and I saw the man in the car was watching her. "Paige is he beating you!" I yelled. She stopped and dropped her books. She turned and tears welled up in her eyes. "N-No," she said. "Your lying Paige," I said walking towards her. "I-I'm not," She replied. I crossed my arms, "I'll kill him!" I yelled clinching my fists. She grabbed my arm, "Reid, just...leave me alone," she said picking up her books and heading to her locker.
