Chapter 9 (Ried's Mom)

~Reid POV~

I walked out of the hospital room and looked back to still see Paige blushing. I smiled and put my hands in my pocket. Jay knudged me, "I saw that kiss." I chuckled, "Yeah, so?" I asked. "Nothing," he said with a smirk and put his hands in his pockets. I shook my head and grabbed Alex.

I saw him giggle and kiss my cheek. "Let me guess, you all saw it didn't you?" I asked. "They all burst into laughter, "Yeah," they said in chorus. I could feel my face turn red. We walked to the parking lot and climbed into my mom's mini van. I turned on the radio and looked up at the warm September night. My mom hopped into the car and handed me a piece of paper.

~Paige POV~

My dad walked into the room with a bag of Nacho Cheese Doritoes. He handed them to me and sat in his hospital chair. The nurse came in and talked to my dad. She walked up to me and asked me a serious question, "Honey, why did you try to commit?" she asked sitting on my bed. I looked at my dad, I saw a tear roll down his cheek. A tear rolled down my cheek and I replied, "My mom left..with my brother." The nurse hugged me and walked out of the room.

I lied to the nurse and me and my dad knew it. He knew why I tried to commit suicied, because of him. He looked at me and grabbed my purse. "I'm gonna check you out, you can.....use the bathroom or whatever," he said walking out. I grabbed my clothes and walked to the bathroom. I opened the door and looked into the mirror. For a split second, I didn't reconize myself. I started to cry, I missed my mom and Josh.

I finally put on a long sleeve jacket over a white T-shirt. I hopped into my dark skinny jeans and put on my dark brown boots. I put my hair in a quick ponytail and slipped on some foundation under the bags under my eyes. I walked out of the bathroom and my dad was holding a slip of paper. He handed it to me and sat on the chair. It was a choice for me to live with my dad or my mom.

I grabbed my mouth and sat on the hospital bed to read the letter:

Mrs. Paige Owens,

You have experienced a suicidual state and we would like you to be put in a suitable home, please check the box below and sign:

Father:__

It took me a while to read it over and over again. "You can *cough* decide later on," said my dad after what seemed like hours of silence. I crooked a smile and replied with, "Yes sir'." "Hey Paige," he replied. "Yes" I said. "Call me dad," he tried to smile. He stood up and hugged me.

I closed my eyes as tears rolled down my eyes. Finally, a nurse came in and handed dad a paper for my medicine. My dad and me walked out of the hospital to his car and hopped in. My dad pulled out a cigeratte and lit it.

~Reid POV~

I opened the piece of paper nervous as to what it would say:

Reid,

I love you!

-Mom

I chuckled and hugged her, "I love you too mom!" She smilled and we drove home. I ran to my room and flopped on my bed I dozed off and woke to my phone ringing....AT 2:30 IN THE MORNING! I ran to my phone and answered it, "Who are you and why are you calling me at 3 a.m?" I whispered loudly into the phone. "Actually it's 2:32 in the morning!" I heard into the phone, I quickly realized it was Paige.

I flopped back unto my bed and grabbed a blanket. "Reid can I spend the night?" she asked after seconds of silence. "What?" I asked. "I-I will explain everything later, will you?" she asked again, "Just tonight I'll leave in the morning I just need to talk." She continued. I chuckled, "Be there in 5."

I slipped on some Levi's. I slipped on a hoodie over my bare chest and some black converses. I grabbed my car keys and my phone. I tip-toed my way downstairs were Skyler was drinking a glass of milk. I grabbed my chest when I saw her, "You scared me!" I whispered loudly. "Were you going at..." she stopped to look at her watch, "3 in the morning?" "What are you doing up at.." I pretended to look at my invisable watch, "3 in the morning?" "Touché," she replied taking a sip of her milk and patting my chest as she walked by. "Hey Sky-" she stopped me, "Yea, I'll cover for ya!" she said walking to the livingroom.

I smiled and walked out to my mom's van were I started it and backed out of the driveway. I drove to Paige's house and walked up to her door. I held my knuckle out to knock on the door when Paige stepped out and grabbed my hand, "Sh!" she wispered loudly. I bite my lip and grabbed her bag. She closed the door gently and followed me to my mom's van.

She chuckled, "Nice ride!" I laughed, "I know right!" She hopped into the van and I put her bags in the back. I hopped into the van and started it. I backed out of the driveway and we drove to my house. I grabbed her bags and told her to be quite when we got into the house. I unlocked the door and closed it slowely when Paige got in.

I locked the door back and Sky winked at me. I rolled my eyes and headed to my room. Paige followed me and I opened my door. I shut the door and locked it. I flopped unto my bed and saw Paige scan my room. She giggled and I quickly realized a picture of me and Jay when we were babies, in the bath, was on my desk. I grabbed the picture and threw it into my messy closet.

Paige sat on my bed and pulled out her cracked phone. I sat on my bed and layed my head on her lap. She texted Alexis and said something about being safe. "What?" I asked. "Nothing," she said turning her phone off and slamming it under her leg. I looked at her, "Paige tell me" I demanded. "They want me to choose between my mom and dad!" she whispered. "Choose your mom, duh?!?!" I replied.

"I can't choose my dad because he abuses me, and my mom left me, Reid I don't know what to do," she replied covering her face with her hands. I moved them and looked into her bright green eyes, I put my hand on her cold cheek. I rubbed my thumb on her cheek and smiled (A full smile). She giggled and KISSED ME! SHE KISSED ME! My mouth widened, "You just kissed me!" I whispered loudly. "I know," she said grabbing my face.
