Dad went all out for this dance. He got a chauffeur who drove around in a sleek black Rolls Royce, and bought me a striking white tuxedo and white cotton gloves. I think I look rather 'dashing' to say the least of myself without bragging. I was more than excited. I could fly, I was so happy.
It's 8:30 and I'm sitting in the back of a Rolls Royce by myself on the way to the dance.
My heart is racing. Racing may be too slow, actually...I get out of the car, with a rushed thank you to the driver.
I walk inside of the large building housing what is truly a beautiful setting.
The giant room runs for a distance that looks infinite, but there's a clear stage at the end. There's silver curtains draped in the moonlight, and the soft glow of blue makes it look like an ocean right out of a sci-fi movie.
I see him in the crowd. He's standing there in all black. He's purely amazing.
His looks say enough, and my pace increases until I'm in front of him.
He placed a warm kiss on my cheek. With a soft voice, he says,
"Hello, Bat."
"Orange," I reply.
Inaho takes my hand in his and gently kisses it.
"Oh, please," I laugh a bit. "That's over the top,"
"Only for you," he shrugs.
A band starts setting up on stage. A cello, a violin, a piano, and a xylophone, accompanied by two guitarists who looked like the frontmen. A man and a woman.
Inaho looks to them and then to me as they start to play.
"Would you like to dance?"
And so we did.Asseylum shows up soon after, followed by just about the rest of the dance.
The room is full now, yet its beauty doesn't subside. I get to be with the one I love... So it would never fade to me.
The way we dance slowly to the chimes of the guitar, supplemented by the piano and violin just got rooted into my brain. The way his hand fit in mine. The way our eyes never broke their gaze. The way we were together then and there in that moment. I never wanted to let go, and I don't think I could've.
I would've asked you then and there to marry me, but something came and stole all my vocabulary. The night waged war with the gentle music and soft yet everglowing vibrant colors all around. We danced for what seemed like too short a time, though it took up a large part of the dance.
Eventually, he let go of me, and said in his rather soft voice, once more seeming as cold as it normally was, "I'll grab us some drinks. Wait here, yeah?"
The DJ who had set up after the band finished performing - Peter And Kerry, I think their names were, - started playing your party music, the typical hip hop pop song everyone seemed to know the words to.
I see the white dress with beautiful wave themed designs moving towards me rather quickly. She's smiling from ear to ear, which probably has been what she's done the whole night.
"How's it going, cutie?" Asseylum inquires.
First, I'm blushing from her side comment. Then, I'm embarrassed because now that I realize I've been so affectionate in public, and it feels weird.
"It's going... Great," I say without a shadow of a doubt.
"Good," she smiles, and grabs one of my hands. "Tell me after the dance all the details!" She nearly yells.
I look confused, but before I can ask, Rayet is storming at me. She's wearing a dress that's a simple black, but still really pretty. She pushes me against the wall and... She's clearly pissed.
"I told you to keep him away from Asseylum, not get with him yourself!" She hisses.
"I'm... I," I try to explain.
"Save it." Her tone turns unnaturally calm after that. She lets me go and I can get off the wall. "Inko was supposed to go with him, not you."
I bite back my fear and say,
"I didn't mean to fall for him... I'm..."
"Whatever," she finishes angrily.
She storms off just as quick as she arrived.
Inaho comes back shortly after with two cups of a fruit punch of sorts.
I feel guilty just taking a sip.The dance ends not too long after, and I take Inaho outside with me, and sitting there ready to take us home is the chauffeur and Yuki, Inaho's older sister.
"Oh, Slaine... Do you think we could just go back to your place?" He asks, not really thinking about his choice of words.
I blush a bright red, and agree.
"I'll ask my dad first, then sure,"
I do as I say, and Cruhteo says sure, he's not gonna be home tonight or tomorrow though.
I tell Inaho, who nods and trots off to his sister.
They talk for a little while, but before long she hugs him, probably exchanges the family style goodbyes, and gets in her car.
He comes back to me and looks around the lot.
"Where's your ride?"
"It's uh... The Rolls," I explain. I'm a bit embarrassed to be taking Inaho, a humble person, home in a real luxury car.The ride is brief, and I thank the driver with a hefty tip from Dad. He drives off and I take Inaho inside.
He seems to loosen up now that we're out of the public so to say.
He takes off the suit coat, and sighs.
"That was really fun, thank you Slaine."
"It was really my pleasure," I say. I don't really understand his intentions of asking to come to my house...
"Make yourself at home," I say, slipping my shoes off, and then my suit coat.
"Ah, thank you," he says politely. He takes off his dress shirt now, and he's wearing a white underarmour shirt. He's got some pretty defined arms.
So cute...
He then asks,
"Do you wanna just watch a movie or something and head to sleep?"
No dirty intentions, I see. I'm glad about that.
"Sounds good to me," I respond. "Uh... In my room,"
As I lead him upstairs, I think I hear a stiffled yawn.
Once in my room, I grab some clothes for both of us. Some sweats a tad too big for me and a baggy tee. I hand them to him and step out of the room myself and into the bathroom to change.I come back in a few minutes later, and he's digging through some movies.
"See anything good?" I ask.
"They're all good. That's the problem."
I wait a moment, and then he continues,
"What about this one?" It's a RomCom that is pretty standard for the genre. I shrug and say,
"Sure, whatever you wanna watch."
So he put it in the player and we watched it.
And we slept.
And I fell deeper in love.
