An hour had passed after everyone had dined with their sundae. Gary and Ji Hyo followed Haha and Byul as the married couple walked through the busy streets in town. Tall buildings were stacked next to each other as the banners stuck out grabbing every attention of the customers, the civilians minded their own business as they walked passed, shuffling for space. Soon they stepped down the miniature stairs that led them through to the isolated and peaceful beach. Their feet ran through the duskiness of the grainy white sand. Unlike most beach days where the sun would've burned your skin and warmed up the ocean water; the waves were cool and calm whilst the cotton like clouds covered the sun's blazing presence. Byul tilted her head upwards as she swung her arms through the spine chilling breeze.
"Would you guys ever live by the sea?" she curiously asked, Haha and the Monday couple gazed at the panorama of the seascape. Ji Hyo's small smile widened as she turned to Byul then to Gary.
"I would! I love the sea very much! Especially if you live near the beach, imagine all the beach parties you could hold." She boasted but the smile faded as soon as Gary gave a piece of his opinion.
"I used to, I did have that thought but I gave up on it..." Gary mumbled as he trailed ahead followed by Haha; Ji Hyo's eyes casted on his deltoids as she frowned in disappointment.
"Ehhhhh what a letdown, it's a perfect place to live in!" Haha tried to convince him but it didn't work, Byul noticed the glum expression that was written all over her face and she came up to her.
"Come on Ji Hyo! I guess he's not the beach kind of guy" Byul comforted her as they both walked side by side. Ji Hyo continued to stare at the scenery as she sighed silently "He loved the sea too..."
After a silence of pacing, Haha pointed at a row of beach shops, there were gift shops and equipment that were essential for beating the summer heat, and in front of the shops were families spending time with their children as they made sandcastles; couples that were snuggling underneath the shade as they ate their ice-cream. Haha stepped towards a large hut: it was built in wood with hay roofing. On the counters stacked souvenirs were made in rich urban designs, ranging from stuffed key rings to wooden sculptures that were influenced by the Hawaiian culture. Byul skipped towards him but as soon as Gary were about to follow them he noticed Ji Hyo's awkward standing position and her blank expression.
"Ji Hyo!" Gary called out her name and she turned around, startled. In a sudden shock, her small steps staggered and tripped over into his arms which made her accidentally drop a box that was neatly wrapped in teal wrapping paper. He looked at her in suspicion as she neatens herself up and grabbed the box away from him in haste. "Wae Ji Hyo, what's wrong?" he asked.
"Nothing I almost forgot to give the gift and it would be awkward to give one to them now whilst they're shopping" she muttered. He gently pushed her towards them and sighed "That's not the answer I didn't need to hear but at least give it to them, you've spent this time to give something for house warming."
Ji Hyo looked back at him with a confused expression but then Gary pulled her arm and dragged her sluggish body through the brittle sand. "W-wait oppa! Oppa!" She wailed. She tried to dig her shoes into the depths of the sand but didn't work and she had no choice but to go along with it.
Her eyes shifted side by side, the uncertain atmosphere enclosed around her petite body as she felt hesitant, but he laid his hands on her shoulders - ensuring that this feeling would disappear. Soon she gained encouragement and she gulped the last bit of her drooling saliva.
"Oppa! Byul! I forgot to give you this!" Ji Hyo smiled as she handed out her housewarming gift. Byul immediately ran and hugged her tightly as she pecked her cheeks. Her arms were wrapped around her as she brought Ji Hyo closer to herself and Haha.
