                                                                             Chapter 1

Another boring day of school Cameron had thought to himself, at least I have this to entertain myself He took out a book he had been reading for the past couple of days, a book about vampires. The... teacher got up from his desk when he noticed Cameron reading when he should be doing his work. Mr Skinner walked over to his student with an unproven look on his face.

“Shouldn’t you be completing your work Cameron?” Mr Skinner asked the student.

“Yes, but I’m already done my work” Cameron answered without looking up from his book.

“Then let me see it” Mr Skinner commanded. Cameron sighed marking his page with a bookmark he had beside him, he closed the book and sat it on his desk, after that he took papers out from his desk, all were filled with answers, almost all were correct. “There happy?” Cameron scolded the teacher. The teacher simply looked a bit happy and sighed, “You know, you’re a good student” Mr Skinner said with a slight smile.

“Yeah I’m ok” Cameron sighed “Can I get back to my book now?” he asked annoyed, the teacher simply nodded and Cameron picked his book back up returning to his page. Mr Skinner noticed what Cameron was reading “Ah interested in vampires are we?” He questioned with a small chuckle in his voice

“Aye” Cameron had picked up the habit to answer like the vampire characters in his stories.

“Aye?” the teacher asked confused of what it meant.

“It’s the way vampires say yes in the books I read” he answered as the teacher laughed “I enjoy the stories I hear about vampires.” Cameron said with a smile. The teacher laughed some more and went back to his desk at the front of the class. There was a sudden Slam on the desk behind Cameron, Jasmine had dropped her book in an attempt to get his attention, Cameron sighed “Not this again Jasmine” he said still looking at his book.

“You really believe in all that vampire stuff don’t you?” Jasmine said with a smirk “You know it’s all fake, how stupid could you be?” she laughed at her joke like it was the funniest thing she had heard. Cameron sighed and put his book down once again. “There is nothing to totally prove they are fake or to prove they are real, it is a myth I know that but I enjoy the stories of vampires so much, and I would love to see one in real life too, is that stupid to you?” Cameron snapped

“Yes very much” Jasmine answered. Cameron slumped in his seat “It was a rhetorical question”

“Yet I still answered” Jasmine laughed again. “Vampires are one of the stupidest things around, they are a myth and I would never believe in such a thing.”

“Well be that as it may, what you say doesn’t change my mind, I would love to see the day vampires are real proving you wrong” Cameron scowled as he returned to reading his book. Jasmine went back to her work with a smirk on her face thinking of what a fool Cameron was. Luckily Cameron only had this class that Jasmine was in so after this class he could go to the rest without hearing from her for the rest of the day. The bell rang signalling the end of first period Cameron would be free of Jasmine now. Jasmine was a smart girl but she was a bit rude when it came to Cameron, she was in the same grade as he was, they were both in grade 9, she was taller then him and mocked him on that too, she was his age, fourteen, with long blonde hair. When she had the chance she would mock Cameron or his friends usually in the exact same way each time, she had that chance one more time during the day and took it.

***********

The rest of the school day had been uneventful he had only ran into Jasmine at one point of the day and that was at lunch, as usual she had come to once again mock vampires saying they are stupid and fake she wasn’t much of a bother as he ignored her easily, he only had a small group of friends who shared the same interest of vampires with him, especially his best friend; Tyler. Tyler had believed vampires were as real as the sky above him. School was easy for Cameron, the only real problems was when he got into trouble for reading too much when it wasn’t the time for it. Finally it was the end of the day, Cameron would always meet up with his friends before he started walking to his sister’s school.
