Chapter

3

Cameron wanted to run, he wanted to leave at that moment but he couldn’t find the strength to, that was the same question Tyler had asked Jasmine before killing her in his dream.

“I said, do you believe in vampires?” whoever it was they wanted an answer, Cameron stared shocked at the bushes, he didn’t want to answer but he knew it would be too disrespectful not to.

“A-Aye” He stuttered, hearing this made the hidden person laugh,

“You even answer like some” it was no doubt, the voice belonged to a girl. Cameron started backing up, he had a worried look on his face. “What’s wrong are you scared?” the girl giggled seeing Cameron backing away.

“No not scared, just” Cameron had to think up and excuse making him seem brave, “no, I just have to get home, it’s really late”

“Then your scared of the dark” The woman said before stepping out of the bushes, “too bad, I could have used brave blood” The woman smirked and Cameron stared shocked at who he saw.

The person standing in front of him looked just like the girl in the picture Tyler showed him, he was at a loss for words, her face looked exactly the same, she looked like a fine young woman. She was beautiful and she took notice of Cameron’s shocked expression, “what have you not heard the legends?” she snickered. Cameron was confused he wasn’t sure if she was talking about the vampire legend he was just told or something else.

“Are you Kayla?” Cameron stuttered afraid to hear the answer, she grinned at his question.

“So you have heard the legends” she paused for a moment “Yes I am Kayla Taylor, the one and only” for a second she seamed to disappear but then reappeared behind Cameron. “And yes, some of the legends are true” Cameron jumped shocked by her ability.

“Wait, they are true, which ones?” Cameron was scared but also astonished.

“Well being blooded at the age of six was wrong, actually I was blooded at the age of ten, and I have only been a vampire for fifty years” Kayla told the legend unlike Tyler she told new details and things that were wrong with the legend. It seemed the only things true were how she didn’t stay with vampires and continued to roam through Timmins, she had lived there for years now.

“So what about the picture of you holding that mans head?” Kayla laughed when Cameron asked that.

“Yes I killed him and drank his blood, but I never beheaded him”

“That’s still just as bad!” Cameron shouted without thinking.

“Is it, or is it just a need of vampires” Kayla seemed serious and wanted the answer thought carefully.

“Well to drink blood would be a need, but to kill isn’t, unless the person was a criminal or close to death then it would be fine, but if they were an innocent person then you shouldn’t have, even if you were a vampire” Cameron shouted, he had hoped he would not anger her if she was a true vampire, and he thought if he offended her he would soon end up like the man in the picture. Kayla glared at Cameron for a while, it was only when Cameron started backing up again that she laughed.

“What, do you honestly think I’m going to drink your blood?” Kayla joked

Cameron continued to back up more, “well yes, sort of” Cameron never thought that in his life he would actually meet a vampire, but he has, and now he is much more scared then he thought he would ever be, “well I really have to go now” hearing that Kayla faked a frown.
