Chapter

6

It had been a complete year since Cameron has ran into any vampire, he still hasn’t forgot the last one he saw; Parker. Cameron was in the clear he wouldn’t have to deal with any vampires anymore, he really believed there was none left in town, you could tell he was in a better mood, he had started doing the things he used to again, walking in the shadows, reading more and more about vampires, he enjoyed hearing the tales again, he had no worries that a vampire would come and attack his friends, his family, or himself anymore. He even almost forgot about Kayla and how she lived in Timmins among him, something kept him remembering though, maybe it was the fact he never forgot how vampires were real, or was it because of his still scarred shoulder that he never forgot her, either way he didn’t worry about her anymore, if she never appeared for a year she must have moved on to another town possibly, he would have heard news, more rumours about her if she had still been around, either she was gone or she was one heck of a hider.

“This you is better” Tyler had broken Cameron’s train of thought, they had been in much of the same classes now. “You’re back to your old self”

“Yeah I guess I am” Cameron was doing some work until Tyler started talking to him for the forth time that class.

“So do you still bother about Parker?” Tyler had learned his attacker long ago when Cameron gave his book back, he read the page Cameron looked at. Hearing this Cameron sighed.

“Of course not, he’s gone I haven’t seen him for years, now I wouldn’t exactly ever be his friend but why should I worry?”

“Well because he was the first vicious vampire you met” Tyler had thought Parker had made Cameron worry all this time, he didn’t know it didn’t matter to him anymore.

“He had good reason, he didn’t have to attack but for him not to care about his actions, I can understand why” Tyler was shocked to hear this from Cameron

“Understand, what do you mean?”

“I mean if I was in his position, lost a loved one and left to live much longer, living with the grief he had, I would probably do the same thing” Tyler had never heard anything like this from Cameron before.

“You would mourn for the death of someone and take it out on others, killing them just because you didn’t want to care again?” This was the first time Cameron had ever heard Tyler frustrated.

“I would kill, and not care yes… but it would be with good reason, I wouldn’t kill for nothing, but drinking blood because I would need to isn’t the reason, because the killer of the loved one would be out there somewhere, and hopefully that would draw them out eventually, then I would be able to seek the revenge I want.” Cameron turned to Tyler “You think vampires have the easy life? Well we have a easier life then them, are we really deserving of the human life or should we have a challenge like the vampires out there, life would be different yes, but to understand vampires the only way would be to become one.” Cameron spoke his mind, he meant all the words he said and Tyler was shocked even more by this.

“You’re not seriously considering being a vampire are you?”

“No of course not, I have never and will never” Cameron lied to Tyler as much as he has thought of it throughout the year he couldn’t tell his best friend that. I’ve thought of it many times, and I think it might actually be a better life, I might enjoy the life of a vampire if I was given the chance I would probably take it, Cameron thought about being a vampire for a while, he felt like the vampires that suffered didn’t deserve it, but maybe he might. Cameron felt as if being a human wasn’t enough , but he couldn’t tell anyone this the only person he would be able to tell this to would be a vampire, but no human, especially his best friend, not even his sister.
