"Bethany Mota..."
"Derek Hough.. It's been a while."
"Yeah it has.."
"What are you doing in New York?" Bethany asks still in a small state of shock.
"Uh I'm here for business. What about you?"
"I live here."
"Wow, shy little Bethany Mota living in a big city like New York? Who would've guessed."
"A lot has happened since you left for London."
"Yeah, well it's been like what 10 years?"
"Yeah, that sounds about right." Bethany nodded thinking back to their childhood.
"We should go get lunch sometime, catch up."
"Yeah we should."
"Uh, swap numbers?" Derek grabbed his phone from his pocket.
"Yeah sure."
As Bethany put in her number Derek couldn't help but notice a new confidence he's never seen in her before.
He wonders what changed her...

Derek paced back and forth for 10 minutes in his hotel room. Not realizing he was actually pacing.
Why was he pacing?
Why is he so nervous to call her?
She's expecting a call right?
After fighting with himself some more, he final decided to call her.
It rang 4 times before she picked up,
"Hello?"
"Hey Bethany, it's Derek."
"Oh hey! Sorry, I normally don't answer unknown numbers, so I was a little sketchy."
"It's ok, I probably should've added my number into your phone too."
"Probably would've been a good idea." Bethany giggles.
Oh how he could listen to that all day.
Her voice...
Her laugh...
Damn.
"So uh, when do you want to go for this lunch?"
"I'm packed busy with meeting til Thursday, I have to go to a show thing for my friend but it's in the morning so I could totally do Thursday, does that work?"
"I have a business thing I have to take care of, but it's in the morning too so it should work."
"So 1?"
"It's a date." Derek said without thinking.
The phone was silent on both ends for a moment.
"Yeah ok, I'll see you then. Bye." Bethany said then quickly hanging up.
"What the hell did I just do..." Derek slapped himself in the face..

"Can we get Derek and Nastia in the back please?" The producer of Good Morning America.
Just a second later Bethany walks up to her and says,
"Hello, I'm a friend of Janel Parrish. She asked me to come today?"
"Bethany Mota?"
"That's me!" Bethany smiled.
