Edmund
I sighed deeply again, the puzzle pieces just didn't fit. Why did Anela just leave me like that? We had just come back from a wonderful time out. We returned in laughter and then out of the blue she stops laughing and walks off. I just didn't understand. "Hey, you're back earlier than I expected," Jessica's voice wafts through my thoughts.
"Huh?" I look up at Jessica, not fully paying attention.
"I just said that I wasn't expecting you back this soon. I thought you would have been out longer than this."
"Oh, ah, well the meeting ended earlier than I expected." I say rubbing the back of my neck.
Jessica gives me a blank look on her face and then smiles. "Oh, okay then. Great." Her smile seemed to me very forced though, like one she would use for modelling. "Well I got to meet my friends, so," she leans against me and presses her lips on my cheek, "see you." And with that she dashes off and leaves. Inside I was somewhat relieved that she had to go, tonight I would have some time to continue processing today's event and figure it out somehow.
Why did she leave? And so suddenly too? Was she sacred? Did she think she would get in trouble for being out with me? I told her, I did, I told I would sort it out and she would be okay. Was she worried that she might have said too much to me? It just doesn't add up. All these questions occupied my head but none of them were answered. Things just didn't add up. I got up from the bed I was laying on and started pacing around the room. I had gone around the room three times when Jonathon entered. "Great Scott, Edmund! What are you doing?"
"Just thinking, I guess. What would you like to talk about?" I say hoping he won't ask for the cause of the pacing. Too late, "Never mind that now, why are you pacing Edmund?"
I start shaking my hands, trying to leave this topic, "No, no, it is nothing that you need to worry about, continue on."
"Well, don't worry." He says rather simply.
"What about?" I say shocked. Does he know about it? How would he?
"Thinking about how to propose to Jessica, she is bold and at times eccentric but anything will suit her. To be frank, all she's interested in the actual proposal, not the events that brought them together." My fears dissipated as he said this, he couldn't see the real reason of my worrying. He smiled at me warmly, I hadn't even thought of the proposal until then.
"Ah, well, thank you for your advice, I'll take it into consideration."
Jonathon laughs at this statement and slaps me on the back, "Still the quite the gentleman huh? Well glad I could help chap. Well, I'll just leave you now," he heads toward to door and before he leaves he says, "Remember don't think about it." I give him a slight nod as he closes the door. I heaved a great sigh, I had completely overlooked about the proposal. The time was fast approaching and if I didn't do anything soon, Jonathon would start coming down hard on me, what I had just got was nothing in comparison to what he could do. I grabbed out my Samsung phone and search up ideas for proposals, there were so many, I had no idea what to do. I know what Jonathon said but I still wanted to make the engagement memorable.
