"what the fuck were you doing?" // jasmine
"Well, this doesn't look right." I mumbled to myself when I entered through the maroon curtain into a dark room.
Before I could reach into the pocket of my jeans for my phone, a hand covered my mouth while another slithered around my waist, pulling me back into the culprit.
My eyes widened as I tried getting out of their grip, with them finally releasing me when I elbowed them where I assumed their dick was.
In the quick second that all that managed to happen, someone had reached up and turned on the small lightbulb that dangled from the ceiling.
The lighting was dim but I was still able to make out some distinct features of his, coming to the short conclusion that I had no idea who he was.
He, who looked about eighteen, stood there clutching onto his private with a far from pained expression on his face.
The smile on his face, which was kinda cute, becoming a bit terrifying at the given situation.
"What the fuck were you doing?" I placed my hands on his chest once he stood upright and pushed him away with all the force I could; taking a precautionary step back for extra distance between us.
"Just wanted to mess with 'ya." He laughed, wiping away a fake tear from his right eye.
"Ha, ha. Very funny." I sarcastically remarked, smoothing down the wrinkles on the bottom of my shirt from where he had been holding onto me from earlier.
"It is, isn't it?" He playfully smirked, before letting his eyes shamelessly wander up and down my figure - earning a scoff from me.
"Why are you back here anyways?" I asked, disregarding my own presence back here.
"Mom works here." He nonchalantly shrugged, before taking a step closer to me and looking down at me. "What about you, beautiful?"
"Not interested." I stated, starting to walk towards where the curtain I entered from was.
My small exit was cut off by him turning on his heal and gripping onto my wrist. "Don't you think that's kinda rude?"
"Maybe."
"You're here for the circus, aren't you?" He asked, eyeing the colorful ticket that rested in the front pocket of my dark pants.
"Why else would I be here?" I raised an eyebrow at him, quickly glancing over to where he was still holding on to my wrist.
"Visiting a lover? Family? Maybe you wanna sign up?" He shrugged, letting go of me as he made his way over to where I stood.
"None of the above." I laughed, walking through the curtain he held open for me after he turned off the dingy light.
"How 'bout I show you something even better than the circus?" He offered, glancing over at me as we headed out of the path I had mistakenly taken earlier, ending up in front of an array of trailers.
"Is it really better?" I questioned him, carefully watching him as he took the ticket from me and held it in his fingers; ripping it into tiny little pieces at my feet.
"I'll let you be the judge of that." I could feel myself grow nervous at the feeling of him interlocking his fingers between mine; my darkly painted nails resting on top of his knuckles. Must be a really friendly guy. "I'm Jerome, by the way."
"Jasmine."
"Jasmine." He slowly repeated my name, nodding at the sound of it smoothly rolling off of his tongue. "I like that."
"Ah, thanks." I nodded, glancing at the surroundings that blurringly passed us as we continued on walking. "I don't get that a lot."
"Oh?" He glanced over his shoulder at me with a smile painted across his lips, before continuing on walking in front of me. "That's a shame, considering how nice it is."
"Here we are." Jerome finally announced after a good five minutes of walking and pointless small talk between us.
I looked up at the trailer that was parked in front of us as Jerome held the door open. "Is this your..."
"Trailer? Yeah. I, sadly, have to live here."
He started walking inside when he didn't see me move, giving me no other choice but to follow him; considering the fact that I didn't know where else to go.
"But before you ask, no. I didn't just come here to make out with you. I actually thought you'd be interested in meeting Sheeba."
I made my way over to the wooden kitchen counter and leaned my side against it as he shut the metal door and made his way deeper into the trailer.
"So, you brought me here to make out with you and meet your possible girlfriend?" I teased, eyeing him as he crouched down in front of something - the sound of a lock following soon after.
"I think it'd be highly unhygienic to do couple-like-things with Sheeba." He stood up and walked towards me, the sight of something moving behind him catching my eye. "But the idea does sound interesting."
"What the fuck?" It felt as if all the wind got kicked out of me when I got a glimpse of the familiar green. "Is that a snake?"
Before he could get in front of me with that thing behind him, I climbed up onto the counter; too afraid to do anything else at the moment.
So this is it, this is how I'm gonna die. I'm gonna die at the hands of a fucking large snake and a tall ginger kid.
He laughed at my reaction, before three loud knocks on the metal door echoed through the small space of his home; saving me from whatever was coming next.
"Jerome!" A shrill woman's voice yelled from the other side. "Open the damn door."
