Evanity's POV

Fallon and I exchanged anxious glances with each other and only one person crossed our minds on who that voice could belong to: Tarah. Impulsively, I jumped off him then glided towards the direction where the voice was coming from. He followed right behind me as I sped up and made my way through the forest of trees leading towards the dam. Several thoughts raced through my head as I imagined the worst that could happen to her and Tristan then tried to block them away. My heart was hammering painfully against my chest fearing the worst but still I tried to get my hopes up that they'll both be alright.

At last, the trees before us parted to reveal the multiple-arch dam which consisted of a number of single-arch dams with concrete buttresses as the supporting abutments. The sound of water cascading from the dam could be heard throughout the entire forest but I paid no attention to it nor to the dam itself but instead focus on the battle scene that was happening before me. And what Fallon and I saw next made our hearts stood still.

A limp body of a girl with long auburn brown hair, slender figure and dressed in traveling clothes was lying in a prone position on the ground enclosed by a throng of Cabrians. It didn't take long for me to realize that the girl was Tarah and fear and panic clawed at my heart when I saw what the Cabrians had done to her. She was bathed in her own blood as she laid there unconscious, her hair covering her entire face while the enemies around her were jostling each other around to see who has enough strength to kill her. A Cabrian, taller than the rest, pushed through the others crowding around her, stepped nearer to Tarah and was just raising his sword over his head in an attempt to kill her when I finally found the courage to shout out, "NO!"

They twisted their heads at the same time towards my direction as Fallon and I descended on the ground just a few feet away from them. "Get away from her!" I yelled at them trying my best to sound intimidating. Instead one of them - the one who was about to kill Tarah - let out a roar of laughter and scoffed at me in an almost hissing voice, "Make us."

Pure anger swelled up at my chest because of his words and once again I felt that strange burning sensation boiling in the pit of my stomach which immediately flowed all over my body, making me feel like I was on fire. I concentrated hard, closing my eyes as I do so, and directed the wind to do my bidding. When I opened them, the wind had responded and within an instant I was able to generate a huge swirling tornado by meeting warm air in the updraft and cool air from the downdraft. Levitating myself a few feet off the ground, I caused the rotating twister to suck up the Cabrians who were already running away in fright into the vortex then moved on to the others who were paralyzed and were staring wide-eyed at the cyclone coming their way. The Cabrians weren't even trying to defend themselves now, some of them ran around in circles looking dazed while a few of them huddled around in a corner hoping that the tornado would just passed them leaving them unharmed.

I bellowed loudly looking enraged as I gathered up a good source of warm, moist air to power it even more and watched as it grew from ten feet to twenty five feet wide, siphoning several Cabrians who were trying to escape and ripping off dozens of trees which were within its path. Fallon, on the other hand, was creating a strong gust of wind towards a group of Cabrians clustered together in an attempt to push them closer towards the twister. I clenched my teeth as I focused on getting it within this range only and watched as a swirling debris (filled with Cabrians, trees, dirt and many other things which I couldn't recognize) formed at the base of the funnel. I peered around our surroundings trying to see whether there was any left and when I saw that there's none, I quickly manipulated the air around me in order to slow it down again. But to my utmost surprise, it continued to violently revolve around the entire place causing havoc and destruction within its path no matter how hard I try to control it.
