Chapter Theme: Hayley Kiyoko - Cliffs Edge

"So how long have you worked there?" Camila asked, picking up her fork and grabbing a bite of pasta with it. Camila took Lauren to a restaurant in her side of Miami. They had the best pasta, Camila swore. Lauren had been to this place millions of times before, but decided to let the little brunette have her fun. What Camila did not know, was that Laurens parents owned the joint.

"Five years in May. It took me forever to earn my degree. During college, I used to run errands for the company, because I wanted to show off. I always dreamed of working there, it was my dream job," Lauren informed, sipping her iced tea.

"Wow, I actually never knew you had an eye for this stuff. You never showed this side of you, Lauren. I like it," Camila stated, giving Lauren a heart felt look. Camila appreciated that Lauren liked art. Since the band's breakup, Camila stated to appreciate anything pretty. No matter what it was, she liked it if it was deemed beautiful. Beautiful things reminded her of Lauren.

"Thanks," Lauren said, shaking a bit. Only Camila had this effect on her. And the sad part was, is that Camila hadn't even touched her. Camila beckoned the waitress over to their table asking for the check. Shortly, the server returned with the check in her hand.

"I'll pay," Lauren stated. Camila made a face at Lauren.

"No, I took you out, so I pay," Camila demanded, grabbing the check and skimming it.

"Well Camila, what you don't know is that my parents own the place and my orders are seventy percent off," Lauren said nonchalantly. Camila looked at Lauren, almost looking pissed.

"Why the hell didn't you tell me sooner? I looked like a idiot!" Camila scolded, over exaggerating.

"You didn't look like an idiot, you looked cute. I'll be right back, Camz," Lauren stated, getting up from the booth with the check in her hand. Camila looked down at her lap. That was the first time Lauren called her 'Camz' in a long time. The first time this year. But, Camila had called Lauren 'Lo' today for the first time in years. What had changed between them?

When Lauren returned, Camila thanked her and tried to hand her money. Lauren rejected and walked her outside of the restaurant.

"So, what time do you have to be back at work?" Camila inquired. Lauren glanced at her phone. She had about thirty minutes till she had to be back at the office. She knew it would take about that amount of time to return.

"Shit, I've gotta go," Lauren answered. Camila looked dismayed. She shrugged and put her hands in her pockets.

"Do you think I can have a hug?" Camila asked coyly. Lauren laughed.

"C'mere," Lauren signalled, as Camila spread out her arms and wrapped them tightly around Laurens waist. Camilas head lied on Laurens shoulder, her breath shallow. She thought about kissing Lauren, but immediately dismissed the thought, because she didn't want to move too fast.

"Well, I guess I'll see you... sometime," Lauren finished, feeling guilty. Camila stepped back from Lauren, looking sad.

"Okay, I bet we will cross paths again, Lauren," Camila said, winking for God knows what reason. Lauren blushed a bit.

"Goodbye, Camila," Lauren said as she walked to her car door. She stepped in and sped off. Camila watched her disappear into the sunset.

"Goodbye, Lauren," Camila said.

Lauren was at her house. She was exhausted for no apparent reason. She didn't even do much today. Usually, her day is filled with physical extravagance. But, today was totally nonchalant.

She was watching some documentary that was on, and was lounging on the couch. Her hair was pulled back and she was in her pajamas. It was 8:30.

Lauren didn't expect anyone to come over, especially this time at night. But, someone did. She heard a knock on the door. Confused, she went to answer it. Opening it, she saw the girl she reconnected with earlier. Camila.

"Oh, hi!" Camila said hurriedly. She had a rushed look on her face. Lauren let her into her house and then closed the door behind her.

"I don't mean to be rude Camila, but why are you here?" Lauren asked politely. Camila ran her hand through her trusses. She breathed out deeply.

"I needed to come and see you. I missed you Lauren," Camila stated. Lauren laughed nervously.

"When did you become so clingy?" Lauren joked. Camila laughed once she realized Lauren was only joking. She was truly afraid to scare Lauren away.

"Also, we really didn't finish what we started at my house," Camila smirked. Lauren gave her a face.

"Did we even start, honestly?" Lauren chuckled, while Camila shrugged, moving closer to Lauren. She was very desperate to feel Laurens lips on hers. Lauren walked to Camila, grabbing her wrist with one of her own hands. She then grasped her jaw and and pulled her face forward. She felt Camila tense.

"Camila, I'm going to kiss you now," Lauren informed. Camila nodded lightly. Then, their lips touched. It was slight and it wasn't too passionate, but it was enough to satisfy Camila. Lauren then proceeded to add more pressure between their lips, earning a soft moan from Camila. Lauren took her time in capturing Camilas lips, reveling in the taste of her. She hadn't quite felt this alive in years.

Camila on the other hand was in heaven. It didn't matter how Lauren kissed her, she loved it nonetheless. When Lauren licked her bottom lip, she almost exploded. She quickly obliged and let Laurens tongue wonder into her mouth. Camila teasingly flicked the tip of her tongue against Laurens and in response the green eyed girl moaned not so quietly.

When oxygen became a problem, they broke their lip contact and rested their foreheads upon each others. Camila gazed deep into Lauren, her eyes pooling with lust. Lauren had the exact same reaction.

"That was something," Camila breathed. Lauren agreed, chuckling slightly. Lauren stroked Camilas bruised cheek.

"I'm so fucking sorry, Camz. I didn't mean to hurt you so much. If I would have found out sooner," Lauren trailed. Camila shook her head.

"Listen Lauren. That's all over now. We have the future to become the past. And, hopefully I'll get to convert these years with you," Camila looked hopeful.

At that very moment, Lauren knew that things were different. And, she knew that she'd have a hell of a time exploring what was really different with Camila.
