She'd lost her will to fight, she'd given up. Nobody knew she had that sadness and rage bottled up inside. Nobody knew Will Haylin could be this vulnerable, but there she was on her knees, sobbing, crying out to nobody in particular, "Why me!? Why did it have to be me!?"

He stared at her at a loss for words, "Will-"

He was cut off by his captor, "If you talk, I'll slowly cut off every one of your fingers."

Her sobbing stopped and she slowly lost her emotions. Love. Lust. Sadness. They all dissipated until only one remained: rage. She stood and stared at her enemy, Nick Kuranae, with a blank expression and the knowledge that her guns were useless at the moment. So, she unsheathed her katana, "Let him go."

He laughed, the sound making her lose herself more. The man she wished to save, Kohaku Minoru, watched on in fearful silence; he feared for Will, knowing that once she was too far gone in her rage she'd kill anybody she wanted. Nick kept laughing and accidentally let go of Kohaku, giving him a chance to charge at Will, "Will calm down!"

She moved out of his path swiftly, and continued to glare at Nick. The laughter stopped and they glared at each other intensely, the hatred they felt for the other speaking louder than words ever could. Will charged, the only thing visible is the blood red of her hair, a flash of the color. Nick didn't see her coming, she moved too fast even for his highly trained eyes. Metal whizzed through the air, then the clang of two swords meeting and a grunt of labor were the only sounds, "Who knew a little girl could be so strong?"

She didn't respond, she focused on her attacks, barely putting any effort into her explosive blows; it was the former delinquent in her, the drive to be stronger and better than your opponent. Nick grunted again, but Will didn't stop to break. One of his lackeys threw a Molotov cocktail at her when he mussed up the strength to push her away, but she propelled out of the fire her sword held flawlessly and she swung.

Nick's bleeding body hit the ground, "Damn you."

She continued to glare, "I'll see you in hell, Kuranae."

He went out cursing and throwing lewd profanities in her face and she just stood in the same spot glaring at the now cold, dead body. Kohaku walked to her, taking each step cautiously, "Will?"

She glanced at him and her emotions come back, hitting her like a semi, "Oh my God!"

She collapsed, "What have I done?!"

Kohaku got on his knees and hugged her to him, she buried her head in his chest and cried silently accepting the comfort he was offering. Electricity ran up their spines at the other's warm touch and they shared a loving kiss.

Ren turned off his T.V. and sat on his couch in stunned silence, Kyoko was amazing. Her fighting style was rough but graceful, her weaponry skills were something to be considered truly dangerous, and her feelings could be felt perfectly. Would it be wrong of him to fell jealous of the lucky bastard who got to kiss her? No, probably not.

His phone went off and he answers, "Tsuruga."

"Did you watch it Ren-chan!?"

Jelly didn't call him very often, but when she did it always had something to do with Kyoko, "Yes, Miss Woods, I did."

Jelly's voice is irritated, "I told you to call me, Ten-san!"

He smiled peacefully, "Oh did you? I don't remember that."

She smiled darkly, "But I tell you every time we see each other."

He gulped, she had him there, "Sorry, force of habit."

"Right."

They conversed casually and by about 9:30 Jelly bid him farewell, "I have an appointment in thirty, Ren-chan, I'll talk to you later. Don't stay up too late!"

He pressed the end button after responding, he leant back into the couch and sighed in boredom. There was nothing to do now that the president had him on force vacation.

...Flashback...

"Do you here me Ren? You will not return to work until you learn how to eat properly. Think of it as a force vacation."

"But, boss-"

"No buts, go get some food and go home."

...End of Flashback...

Ren sighed, dammit. He walked to his kitchen and pulled out his convenience store bento. Growling,  he heated it up and reluctantly filled his stomach before swallowing some digestives with a glass of scotch. His phone rang yet again and in high hopes he answered it, "Hello?"

"Hello Tsuruga-san!"

His heart stopped, "Mogami-san?"

"Mm-hm!"

He smiled at her enthusiasm, "What brought this on?"

"Guess what?!"

He smiles at her outlandish enthusiasm, "What, Mogami-san?"

"I made up with my mother!"

If he was expecting anything, it wasn't that, "Really?"

She nodded despite the fact he couldn't see her, "Yep. I wasn't expecting the words she said to me at all, but still," she paused, "It's refreshing you know? Not having to worry about her hating me."

He smiled, "I understand."

It was silent for a few seconds before Ren decided to bring up a matter he'd been boiling on since she started out in the biz, "Mogami-san?"

"Hmm?"

"I was wondering why we're still calling each other by our last names, we're friends aren't we?"

She was silent, "But, you're my senpai."

"Correction: I was your senpai, now that you're on equal footing with me--it would only be natural that we would form a casual relationship, right?"

It pained him to say it, that things would remain casual, but he knew she wouldn't be able to disagree with reasoning like that, "But-"

"Am I wrong?"

"No, not necessarily."

"Then it's official, we will now call each other by our first names. Okay, Kyoko-chan?" He smiled in glee.

"F-fine, R-Ren-san."

He danced around in joy, when he realized just what exactly he just did he stopped and was thankful that he lived alone, "Good, I'll speak with you tomorrow?"

"H-Hai."

"Good night, Kyoko-chan."

"Good night, Ts-," she abruptly stopped, "Ren-san."

She hung up and he sat at his table like a love-struck fool, grinning like an idiot, and about to fan-girl like Yashiro. He did so, "Yes!"

More dancing. More humiliation. And laughing at his foolishness. Grinning he settled in his bed and went to sleep, happily for the first time in a long time.
