Ren informed Taisho that he was here to see Mogami Kyoko and was immediately escorted to her eerily silent room, "She hasn't made a noise since her mother dropped her off."
"What happened I wonder," he mutters as the door opens revealing an empty-eyed Kyoko, staring at nothing, "Kyoko-chan!"
She blinks in acknowledgment, "Ren-san."
He grabs her gently and pushes her in, and he watches as tears slip from her frighteningly dead eyes. Ren brushes them away with care and pulls her into his warm embrace, "Tell me everything."
"Ren-san, why is the truth so frightening?"
His breath hitches at the pain in her voice, "Well, sometimes the truth may be what we want to hear, but once we hear it we wish that the truth didn't exist. The truth is an honor that we as humans bare on a daily basis, but some of us don't realize that this honor is painful in itself. Like a veteran amputee, the fought valiantly and so hard that they lost their limbs as a reminder, they wake some mornings scratching at an appendage that's no longer there. The reminder blatantly there, it's an honor and a curse."
She nods and more tears fall, "But what if this truth was meant to be good?"
"Isn't all truth meant to be good in some form or another?"
A sob rips its way from her throat, "My dad is a director!"
He deadpans, is that bad? Another sob, "My father is Ushio Kurosaki! My mom got busy with Ushio Kurosaki before he was Ushio Kurosaki! And hated me because of it!"
That's bad, "He's known for the past seven years!"
That's worse, "And my mother has never had the nerve to tell me I still had a father until now!"
Jesus, "Why am I a receiver of all this grief?"
He sighs and allows her to vent, slowly picking up the bits and pieces she lets out until he fully understands the situation. He hugs her harder and she hugs back, seeking a comfort only he can give. They continue to sit like that, until Kyoko stops crying, "Sorry, I've inconvenienced you yet again, Ren-san."
He sighs, "Kyoko-chan, you can call on me for help anytime. It isn't an inconvenience trust me."
Before she can stop herself she pecks him on the cheek, "That means a lot."
He blushes slightly- not enough to notice- but it's there and Kyoko blushes much brighter at her unexpected, uncontrolled action, "G-gomenasai!"
He chuckles, "I suppose I deserved that, from the torture I caused you that Valentine's day."
She growls, "That friggin' Tsuruga melting pot had me so confused."
He chuckles, "Well you won't be getting that kind of reaction from me."
She grins as she gets into her Will/Setsu hybrid character, "Oh~, is that so?"
He shudders at this unfamiliar character aura, "Yep."
She gets on her knees and looks at him directly in the face; she inches closer, and closer, and closer until finally...she pulls away staring in satisfaction at Ren's glowing face, "Oh~ would you look at that you seem to be spinning around in the Mogami melting pot."
Her smirk makes his 'buddy' stand at attention, but he suppresses himself, "That's fighting dirty."
Her smirk widens, "I'm aware of that."
She pull out of her character and helps him off the floor with ease, "I've been meaning to ask, would you be in the mood for a spar when we both have time off?"
Grinning, she nods, "I need to keep myself in shape if I'm going to keep doing my own stunts."
He nods, but suddenly his jaw drops, "Your own stunts?!"
She nods slowly, "Well yeah, why would I have to go through all that training if I wasn't?"
She had him there, "Gomen, it was just a shock is all."
Laughing, they walk out of her room to assure the bosses that she's okay now and that she just had some things on her mind. When they arrived down stair Kyoko was tackled by Okamisan and Taisho, "Are you okay? Who did it?! Who does Fukaku have to murder?!"
Taisho chokes, "W-what!?"
They laugh, "Missus it's truly nothing, i just had a meeting with my mother and...father?"
Ren couldn't help but chuckle at the tone in her voice, but she cast him a glare that made his face turn blue. M-Mio!?
He shuts up.
...The next day...
She opened the door to the locker room, and was tackled by none other than Amamiya Chiori, "Kyoko-chan!"
"Chiori-chan!?"
"I missed you, you have so many notebooks to read!"
Kyoko shudders, "Poison notebooks?"
"Hai!"
Kyoko shudders again and they converse, catching up on what they had missed about the other, laughing, crying, and plotting. They were grinning like idiots when the finally stopped talking, they continue to sit staring at each other in comfortable silence. Suddenly her phone goes off, "This is Mogami."
She hums in agreement and smiles apologetically at Chiori, "I'll be leaving now, I'm sorry we didn't get to talk more."
She smiles at Kyoko widely, "It's okay, I'll be leaving in a few minutes I'll see you around, Kyoko-chan."
Kyoko nods and leaves, heading for the presidents office in confusion, what's this about?
"Kyoko-chan!"
"Ugh!" Why does everybody tackle me!? She scratches her head and greets her attacker, "Maria-chan, you just seen me yesterday."
"I know!"
She laughs at her excitement that is so much like her own, "I see, well we'll just have to fix this?"
"Fix what?"
"This!" She ruffles Maria's hair and begins to tickle the immature thirteen year old, her laughter mixes in with Maria's as she continues to attack her sides, "Now you look all rumpled!"
"Onee-chan!" Maria whines in her fit of laughter, "Stop, I can't breath!"
Kyoko freezes when she remembers that she was here because the president called her, "Are you done playing now?"
His voice was trying to sound menacing, but the grin in his voice could be heard first and foremost, "Y-yes sir."
He laughs as he helps them up, "I suppose you're wondering why I've called you here today."
She deadpans at the obviousness of his statement and she has to bite back a smart ass American comment, "Indeed."
"You have an offer to star opposite of Ren!"
She can't keep the smile from her face, "Really? What for?"
"An action/thriller/romance!"
Her grin widens, "Who'll I be playing?"
He hands her a thick manila envelope, "It's all in there."
She smiles and thanks him gracefully, opening the heavy package she looks immediately to the director and staff member information paper. Director: Ushio Kurosaki. Great! Lawyer Supervision: Saena Mogami. Even better! She smiles to cover up her stewing emotions, "Tell otou-" She cuts off and corrects herself, "I mean Kurosaki-san that I gladly accept this offer."
He nods and she leaves grumbling about the universe being against her.
