I was lying in the sun on the school field the next day, when a thought sprung to mind.
Tyler and Caroline were lying next to me, him still healing from his Klaus experience, which was surprising since hybrids heal quickly and all.
I turned towards him, tapping his shoulder.
"Ty. Are you still sired to Klaus?"
He grinned back at me. "Nope."
Caroline smiled at me, now Klaus couldn't hurt her and Tyler's relationship, or ruin their lives as he loved to do.
I was happy for Tyler, but it sucks that he had to have his body possessed to get the bond out of him. And I really didn't like that Hayley girl he was now friends with. There was something strange about her. She liked him a little too much.
Stefan appeared overhead, blocking out my rays of sun.
"Hey Mr. Broody, please move, your shadow's making me cold." I winked at him.
He laughed, then stretched out one hand to help me get up. I grabbed it and hopped up beside him. God he was tall.
"So Abby-"
I huffed. "Whenever someone starts with that, I always know it's going to be an interrogation or a lecture."
He grinned at me, showing his amazing white teeth. "You were there when Klaus possessed Tyler, right?"
We started walking around the school grounds aimlessly, I think he was searching for Eleana. I nodded.
"Sure was. It was pretty brutal. Where were you in all of this?"
He laughed awkwardly. "Me and my brother were, controlling Elena. You see, the blood's still getting to her."
I smiled at him, and looked up into his face. "It'll get better. You know it will. Caroline got really controlled! And when I left she had only just become a vampire!"
He sighed, and looked down at his feet. Poor Stefan. "That was a year Abby. She hates being like this. She hates being a vampire."
His voice broke as he said the last words, and he stumbled on the concrete. We were behind the building, and I helped him sit down on the ground, my arm behind his back.
"Stefan." I grabbed his hand. "I promise. You will get your girlfriend back."
He turned, and smiled at me gratefully, tears brimming in his eyes. "Thanks Abby."
I nodded, opening my mouth to answer, when we flipped our heads around to the sound of a scuffle of feet from the corner. Elena. She had hurt in her eyes. All her emotions were overriding, on an ultimate high. And her first look at me and Stefan would have been us holding hands, and staring at eachother meaningfully. Oh great.
She glared at me, like I was the ruiner of her life, then zipped away from the scene. Stefan looked at me in panic, before scampering up and zipping after her.
God dammit. I always have to ruin everything. I could hear Stefan frantically yelping out into the distance, Elena still running from him. Sighing, I stood up and went to class, as the bell rang for the next period.

Stefan's POV:
As Elena left the school grounds, I started to get more desperate. What was I thinking? Surely I did nothing wrong by talking to Abby, she used to be my best friend. Hopefully when I explained to her she would understand.
I followed her scent and ran into the forest, smacking branches and leaves out the way as I ran past. She seemed to be slowing down, but then speeding up again, and I didn't know what was wrong with her. I could hear her soft sobbing, and with every teardrop shed my heart broke a little more.
