Elena's POV

Watching Stefan beat Tanner at the one thing he's supposed to know all about was awesome! I sat down with him at lunch and we talked about football. He seemed really determined not to try out. "C'mon you have to try, I mean you were really good!"

He chuckled and looked down embarassed. "Stefan, I'm not lying! You are amazing! After school you should totally try out!" I said trying to convince him. 

"Elena...did you not see what I did to Tanner today? After all he is the coach and...personally, now this may just be my opinion, but I think the guy hates me!"

I laughed when he did and then said, "That's just because he hasn't seen you play...you'll be his God when you try out!"

 "When, Don't you mean...if?" He said smirking.

 "No...I mean when...because after school I have cheerleading and I am going to make sure you try out!" I said.

He hung his head but he looked up at me after a few seconds and said, "I just can't say no to you can I?" 

"Nope! No one can!" He smiled.

After school I found Stefan by his locker. I ran up to him and jumped right in front of him. He dropped the book he was holding and clutched his chest. I laughed and people stared. "You scared the living hell out of me!" He said gasping.

I laughed harder and kissed him on the cheek. "Your face was PRICELESS!" I finished in a sing-song voice. He laughed and I moved so he could put his books away. "I was actually hoping you wouldn't find me!" He said

"I will always find you!" I said smiling. "Now...we are going to try outs!" I said pushing him towards the door. He was trying to tell me no but I wasn't listening. I saw him get a little freaked out as we got closer to the football field. "Elena!" He groaned

I gave him one last shove and he slowly walked to Mr. Tanner. I walked closer to hear what they were saying. "Look I know we didn't get off on the right foot but...I would really..." he grimanced "...like to try out." Mr. Tanner bit his lip.

"Just to see you fall on your ass...borrow some gear and get the hell out there." Tanner said and I smiled. Stefan looked like he was gonna throw up but he ran towards the locker room. I  quickly ran over to where Bonnie was. "I know I'm late but..."

I paused..."Where's Caroline?" I asked sitting down next to Bonnie. "I don't know...captain of the Cheer squad is never late!" Bonnie said. I watched as Bonnie typed in Caroline's number but just when she hit talk I saw someone pull up in a blue convertible.

Damon? Caroline? "Um....I think I found her!" I said standing up. Caroline leaned over and kissed him then hopped out of the car. "Wow...that must be the mystery guy from the bar!" Bonnie exclaimed. "That's no mystery, that's Damon Salvatore!"

"Salvatore...as in...Stefan?" She said confused. I nodded and Caroline came up to me and said, "I got the other brother...don't mind do you!?" She said rudely pushing past me. "Uh!" was all I could manage.

I looked at Damon and he shot me a death glare. He didn't like me very much. That's okay because I don't like him very much either.
