Jamie's POV

I don't know what made me tell her. What could make me tell my best friend in the whole world some thing that could ruin our whole friendship? I'm sure she could've handled the fact that I was a lesbian, but why did I tell her that I loved her?

Maybe I thought she could handle that, maybe even love me back.

But that was a mistake.

Dumb ass, I told myself, as soon as the words "I'm in love with you" escaped my lips.

I watched my best friend, the one that never had trouble speaking her mind. I watched the confident, beautiful, girl who never shut up. I watched her, watched her eyes widen in disbelief.

I watched the girl who never stopped talking become speechless.

"You... I... how... what?!" She stammered.

Just end this now, I thought to my self.

"Just kidding!" I said, forcing a smile.

"Oh, you bitch!" Rox laughed. But there was something else in her eyes. Was it... disappointment?

I dismissed that thought. You're being delusional, Jamie.

"Except for the lesbian part, I really am one."

Her eyes seemed to shine brighter at that statement. Stop getting hopeful, I said to myself. She'll never love you the way you love her.

"That's fine with me," she said.

"You're such a good friend," I said.

"I know," she boasted, her hazel eyes sparkling.

Damn, she was beautiful.

"I'll meet you at lunch, I have to go to the bathroom," I stated quickly, putting on a fake smile.

"Ok, see you there," she chirped, walking to the cafeteria.

As soon as she left, the tears started to gather, on the brink of falling. I hurried to the bathroom and into and empty stall.

I cried the whole lunch period.

I loved her so much.

But I couldn't have her.

Ever.
