Percy POV
"Hurry up!" I yelled as I flew around in circles. What? Don't blame me. Of course I'd be like this. Annabeth just said YES! And here I was thinking she would say no because we haven't seen each other in a while. I wonder what everyone will think of her. I still have to formally introduce her to my new family. Carlisle and Esme will love her. Rosalie will probably be jealous that I'm not paying any attention to her. Alice will like her because she likes everyone. Everyone else, I'm not so sure. Oh well. I stopped midair. "Hey! Are you guys coming or what?! Don't make me come get you guys!" Jason tried to fly up to me.
"Percy! Slow down! We can't keep up with your new vampire speed!" He spat out vampire like it was a bad thing. Rude much?
"Hey! What's with the attitude?" I teased. He grimaced but didn't say anything. "Earth to Jason!"
"I heard you just fine!" he snapped. Someone's in a bad mood.
"Then come on!" I yelled, rocketing towards home. Almost there! To be honest, I felt a bit nervous about telling them about our monster side. Especially since it was almost time for the next hunt. I slammed through the front door. "We're home!" I yelled. Carlisle and Esme came out of their rooms.
"Percy! You're back!" Esme exclaimed happily. "I hear strangers. Are they your friends?" I nodded.
"Friends before I was turned." Esme looked concerned.
"Have you told them about us?" I nodded again and she covered her mouth. "You know the Volturi will be after them now."
"I know, but they can take care of themselves." The doors opened again as everyone else flooded in.Annabeth POV
"... ey can take care of themselves." Percy said as we walked in. He waved cheerfully and my heart did some jumping jacks. He can still do that to me after being separated for, in my opinion, a long time.
"Percy," I yelled as he ran towards me. I threw my arms around him and kissed him. Someone cleared his throat. I looked around, annoyed, and saw a handsome blond haired man with his arms around an equally beautiful young woman, one eyebrow raised.
"Percy, will you introduce us to your friends?" the woman asked.
"Family," Frank growled. Hazel put her arm on his shoulder.
"Uh, right. This is Frank, Hazel, Jason, Piper, and my fiance, Annabeth." I blushed. That's going to take some getting used to. The blonde smiled.
"It's nice to meet you all. I am Carlisle, and this is my wife, Esme. We are Percy's erm... new parents."
"I know Percy's parents and they're not you!" I hissed.
"Yeah! Percy's part of our family!" Thalia growled. I mentally cheered. Carlisle looked really uncomfortable.
"Guys, can we try and get along? I mean, come on Thals. Annabeth, Jason, Piper, Frank, Hazel?" Percy asked. I glared at him. He raised his hands in defense. "They saved my life, kind of. Also, being a vampire isn't that bad. I just may or may not be able to get through the camp border anymore."
"That's bad Seaweed Brain!" I snapped.
"I know, I know. But still." he muttered. My curiosity got the best of me.
"So, what kind of powers do you have now? Edward made it sound like you had ones that we don't know about." He stared at me, then laughed. "What?"
"Oh gods, yours still the same Wise Girl, always wanting information," he said between laughs. I stared at him, then laughed with him. He started to talk after the laughter subsided. "Right. Powers. Let's see, I kept my demigod powers... oh! The new ones I got are control over the skies, basically air, ice and frost, vapor travel, and mind shielding. Those are all the powers that I've found out I have so far. Also, dyslexia isn't an issue anymore." he said, sounding so smug. Our (the demigods) jaws dropped.
"WHAT?!" we all screeched.
"DAD IS NOT GOING TO BE HAPPY ABOUT YOU FLYING AROUND!"
"NO DYSLEXIA?! YOU HAD BETTER HAVE A LIBRARY HERE!"
"AND YOU USE TO COMPLAIN THAT I GOT BETTER POWERS FROM POSEIDON!" Seaweed Brain smirked.
"I know right? At this rate, all the gods will want me dead." His smile fell. "Why do you guys think I've been hiding for five months? Sorry, but I'm not going anywhere but here." I glared at him.
"I'm sure your dad wi..." I started.
"Who? Carlisle? No offense, but I don't think you can do much against the gods when they're angry." he asked.
"None taken. I'm glad you see me as your father," Carlisle said, smiling at Percy. I resisted against rolling my eyes.
"No Seaweed Brain. Poseidon. Remember? God of the Seas, Father of Horses, etc.?" I ground out. Percy blinked. I facepalmed. "Seriously Percy? Please tell me you didn't actually forget who your real family is." I said, glaring at the couple. Unfortunately, Percy saw the glare. His handsome face twisted into a wolf-like snarl.
"Hey! Don't you dare look at him like that! They took me in after I almost died! I owe them five months of my life so far!" he growled. I recoiled in fear. The power that was leaking out of him was excruciatingly painful to bear. Tartarus flashed through my mind. The last time I had witnessed a power display like this was because of him. I shivered. The power retreated as Percy spun around and marched out of the room, every muscle in his body trembling with anger. I stared.
Blink.
Blink.
Blink. And...
"Percy!" I yelled. He kept walking. "Don't ignore me! Hey!" Carlisle and Esme looked on with sadness in their eyes. I gritted my teeth in frustration. "What wrong with him?" I muttered. The other vampires exchanged glances.
"Well..." Edward started. Carlisle put a hand on his shoulder.
"Ever since we took him in, Percy has been... difficult." I raised an eyebrow. "He didn't take being a vampire very well. Joining our family wasn't a big deal to him, but he hated himself for failing to realize that Polybotes had set up a trap for him." Carlisle glanced at Esme.
"He prefers to think of us as a normal human family. Besides, other than the occasional rogue vampire or a stray werewolf, we act like any other human family," she continued, then smiled tenderly. "If I remember c correctly, he mentioned a certain blond haired girlfriend of his many times." I blushed.
"F... Fiance now," I said, stumbling over the word fiance. Everyone smirked.
"Finally. Took you guys long enough," Thalia muttered, loud enough for everyone to hear. I flushed a deep crimson. Everyone laughed. Alice, I think, stopped and blinked.
"Oh! Percy! We're going hunting tomorrow! You'd better not forget!" she yelled. There was a silence, then, a muffled question. "Yes!" Another muffled answer. "We're leaving after your friends have breakfast!" Percy said something, and Alice turned to us. "Did you guys want to come?"
"Hunting what?" Piper asked.
"We're vegetarian vampires. Since we don't drink human blood, we drink animal blood."
"If Percy goes, I go," I stated firmly.
"Alright then! Did you hear that Perce? They're coming with us!" Jasper said, grinning. Why do I get the feeling that we just made a huge mistake in diving into the world of vampires and werewolves? Please review.
