"Would you be able to lock up the clinic tonight?" Deaton asked Sophie as she placed the last cat back into her cage for the evening. She'd been cleaning out the cat cages and dog kennels for the last hour or so.
"Sure," she nodded. It wasn't like Deaton to skip out early when Scott wasn't working. Recently with all the 'animal' attacks, he'd stick around until closing to lock up himself in case if anything happened. "Is everything okay?"
"Everything is fine, I'll see you tomorrow." he reassured her and walked back into the examination room.
Grabbing the bag of dry cat food, she started feeding them leaving a tortoiseshell she had bonded with until last so she could spend a little extra time with her. Snuggles, who's owner was Lilly, a hyper and very talkative three year old little girl, had come in to be neutered.
"Hey pretty girl," She whispered to the kitten as she gave her some food and fresh water, then proceeded to give her a pat. Snuggles was still a little dopey from the anaesthetic Deaton had given her to fall asleep and the pain killers given to her after the surgery. She was the last patient for the day so she had to stay overnight instead of the required few hours. Once she was happy that Snuggles was comfortable, she moved on to feed the dogs. It didn't take as long to feed them and give them fresh water as the cats since there were more cats than dog.
When the animals were feed she went into the examination room to finish off her paper work. As she was about to start writing, a loud bang came from the store room, making a couple of the dogs bark and howl.
"Hello?" she called out as she got off the stool and made her way slowly to the storeroom. She jumped back when two people burst through the examination room door. She glared at them when she recognized one of them was Derek. The glare quickly faded when she saw what condition he was in.
"What happened?" She asked worried as she watched Derek and a boy she'd never met before.
"He was shot," the boy told her.
She looked at him and then to Derek. "Why aren't you healing?"
"It was a wolfs-bane bullet." Derek told her, his breathing heavy. He started opening the draws and cupboards until he found what he was looking for.
"Oh crap," she said watching him. His condition was getting worse. The poison was almost reaching his heart. "Let me help you."
"You're a werewolf too?" the kid asked, seeming slightly offended by something.
Sophie nodded. "I'm Sophie."
"Stiles," he introduced himself then turned back to Derek. He was wrapping a strap around his arm, trying to stop the circulation. Stiles looked at him confused but Sophie had a fair idea of what Derek wanted to do. "What are you doing?"
"If he doesn't get here with the bullet in time... Last resort." Sophie looked at Derek like he was out of his mind.
"Which is?" Stiles just had to ask.
"You're gonna cut off my arm." Derek told him like it was no big deal, holding up an electric saw Deaton had hidden in one of the cupboards."Derek, no." Sophie glared at him. "You're not cutting off your arm and you're not going to make a kid do it."
"Oh, my God. What if you bleed to death?" Stiles cringed ignoring Sophie's comments.
Derek looked between the two of them. "It'll heal if it works. Do you want to do it?"
Sophie shook her head no. She didn't want anyone to do. Stiles looked like he was going to faint or be sick. "Ugh. Look... I don't know if I can do this."
