5: Misuse/Mistrust

If disbelief is a key,
then a lie is the keyhole
to the door of depression
that leads to the room of loneliness.

To survive this fatally cruel world,
I had to put a mask on,
thinking that it'll be my armor
to this everyday battle.

Thinking that maybe
you'll understand me,
I let my guard down—
but, you let me down.

You were supposed to be one
but you couldn't understand me.
Maybe you preferred not to understand
what's really happening to me.

Unsuspecting of the hurt lurking inside me,
I bid you goodbye with happiness;
and I'll have to let you go
without you knowing it.

I've been switching masks
for far too long
that I've grown too tired
of changing for your convenience.

The play stops now,
so let me take a bow
and feel the mask
crumble in my fingertips

This is the end—
this is the test you've failed.
I've understood your for a long time
and I know you want me gone.

This is what I'll do:
I'll disappear from your sight
for good...
until I forget every memory  of you.

Also, forgive me
but I need to survive,
even if I have to live by myself
in this desolate world I've created.
