Chapter 4

Once I woke up to my usual alarm I stretched and sat up. "Thursday" I tell myself. "One more day and hello weekend" I throw the covers off my legs and get up to walk to the bathroom, this time careful to knock and make sure no one is inside. Luckily no one answers and I step in then start my daily routine, I throw on some makeup today but only the bare minimum like usual; mascara, eyeliner, and powder foundation.

On the way to school I step out of the car and glance at the school entrance to see the Gems with their arms folded over their chests staring at me. I instantly feel sick and want to go home, Colby turns to me then turns to where I'm staring and walks over to me and whispers, "don't let them get to you, you're better then them" he sighs and continues "if you ever need me I'll help ya kid" then hugs me. I push him away and stare at the ground "sorry but I don't feel like being beaten up again" he just stares at me with his glorious eyes. Sam has already walked over to his friends and called for Colby, "want me to walk you inside?" He suggests. "No thanks they would just stick their butts out and act like the ditsy girls they are" Colby just chuckles and nods..... we then both go out ways and I'm forced to walk past them.

"Erin I need to talk to you!" Chrysanthemum pouts her lip and motions me to come over to her with her finger. I just keep walking but they follow me inside. When I am directly across from the bathroom entrance I feel a pressure of hands on my hip and shoulder, I stumble into the bathroom and look up to see none other then the phlegms. Mentally patting myself on the back Chrysanthemum snaps me out of my thoughts "WHY THE HELL ARE YOU SMILING AT ME SLUT?!" My smile runs away and I'm looking at her in shock. She rubs her temples and fumes "I bet you're sleeping around with them, pfff hell I bet you're screwing your brains out every night" I go to protest but she interrupts "Save it you can just go die in a hole and you know who would miss you? No one because everyone will find out you're a whore" my eyes are filling with tears as I try to blink them away. I'm not the one to cry in front of people but that was probably about to change today. She smirks at me and crouches down to my level, "you don't deserve to have a relationship with them. I do, sweetie" she bats her eyelashes and with that they're gone.

I get up and wipe my tears threatening to spill like Niagara Falls when I hear "Don't even think about insulting me today because your nails are crusty, your outfit looks like it came out of a thrift store for hobos, your hair is knotted-" "it's teased!" "Right, knotted so get out of my way and stop being so rude to everyone." I smile a little because I know that voice from anywhere, Haley to the rescue. She bursts in the bathroom and hugs me instantly, "sorry I didn't get here fast enough I got held up by a teacher in the hall." "I'm glad you came anyways" I said greatful. Haley is the only person I know that can put the Gems in their place with her expertise in fashion. The bell rang and we walked out of the bathroom laughing with her arm slung around my shoulder. Today started off wonderful and I can't wait to go home and hide.

Just like usual the day ended and when I got to the car Sam and Colby weren't there. I wondered where they were and I decide to text them;

Group Chat:

Erin- hey, where are you guys I'm waiting at the car
Sam💁🏼- oh sorry Colby got caught up with a friend and I'm coming out now
Erin- okay cool

I don't know why but my heart sank when Sam said Colby got caught up with a friend. I waited 2 more minutes until they both arrived to the car, we all got in and headed home. There was an awkward silence in the car and it was very unsettling but thank cheese we made it home. Hopping out of the car Colby grabs my wrist and whispers "we're gonna talk inside" I just nodded and we all proceeded inside. Sam ran into the kitchen got a snack, then ran upstairs and closed his bedroom door. Colby walked over to me sitting on the cough and sat down next to me with one leg folded into his chest. "Did the those girls talk to you?" I nodded my head not meeting his stare. "Well what did they say?" He giggled inching closer to me. I answered him in an annoying rich girl tone "Oh my gosh girl you wouldn't believe it, we braided each others hair-" Colby just stared at me and nodded in amusement. "Nothing happened don't worry" I smiled at him but he didn't buy it, he leaned in closer to me so that we were an inch away from each other and said "I will find out Erin Stanton" I stayed silent my cheeks probably flushing a pink tint. We stayed like that for a few minutes until he pulled away and got up walking to his room like nothing happened.

Short chapter I know sorry, but I'm having writers block 😬 What did you think? Is Colby interested? Who is this mystery friend of his? How will their relationship change?
