Colby's POV:

A dim light flooded my eyes as I awoke from my sleepless nap. The police had released Sam as innocent and he was currently getting food for us. As for Kevin, he gets the honor of 10 years in prison for taking part in an attempted murder. Although that shot wasn't meant to be fired, they immediately blamed him since he was the ring leader.

Erin's been a cold body for 3 weeks now. 'IT WAS JUST A FUCKING SHOT TO THE LEG! Why?!' I thought to myself as I stared at her pale complexion. I really hate to say it but the doctors are thinking about taking her off life support. She bled out so much that her heart was pumping harder than it should have been in order to keep blood in in her leg. They say nothing could have stopped the bleeding since it hit a major artery.

Bottom line, I'm messed up and have been going to therapy with Sam for the time being. I won't let anyone touch her life support but, I'm not her parent. Speaking of which have been here everyday like me, everyone was currently sleeping since it was 11pm.

As Sam entered the room he knocked twice on the wooden door. "Got you some Chipotle" he chirped walking into the room. I nodded in response, stretching a bit to wake up. I grabbed the bag and opened it with a slight smile.

"Extra chips and guacamole?" I chuckled and set it down. Sam laughed and nodded then looked over at Erin. Images of her dirt and blood covered face from me touching her flooded into my mind. "Hey! Nothing you could have done" Sam shook his head in disappointment. I nodded knowing I wouldn't win this fight.

"Just, what if we were never there? Like what if-" I started to speak when I heard her heart rate drop. Slow steady beats became more and more apparent as nurses and doctors rushed the room. "You boys need to leave, follow Ms. Sandra" the head doctor motioned to a women who looked like she belonged to secretary. Sam grabbed our food and headed for the women.

My heart was racing and my head was spinning as I heard the frantic voices of everyone in the room fade. When we reached the waiting room I collapsed and blacked out.

      Sam's POV

"Nurse!" I yelled ahead to the lady in front of us. I dropped our food and grabbed Colby's head as it almost rebounded off the tile ground. "He fainted or passed out or something!" I ushered.

"That's ok. Nurse Bailey get me a gurney, an IV, and a medic team!" Sandra spoke in a steady voice to a startled older woman. "He'll be ok we just need him to rest, he's probably dehydrated and is suffering from lack of sleep" she nodded. As a medic team came in they relieved me of my duty by keeping Colby's head stable.

"This is crazy!" I said aloud as two nurses rushed to my side and sat me in a waiting room chair. There I was left with my thoughts again. Two of my best friends are hospitalized right now, our food is probably going to go bad, and I haven't slept either. Fan-fucking-tastic.

                 ~3 hours later~

      Colby's POV

"He's just going to need to rest. I'm sure everything will work out soon, I'm sorry" a nurse left with a sad look on her face. "What's going on?" I ask as I find Sam's familiar face. Only this time it was red, swollen and had looked like he was in a street fight. "Sam? You ok?" I asked a bit concerned, pushing off some hospital bed sheets.

"Yeah buddy, everything is fine, I just thought you were gonna go into a coma" he said in a weak voice. "Just get some rest man." Sam grabbed my shoulder and looked away.
