We were all seated at Haley's kitchen table, eating pancakes. Haley was still in her pajamas. They had little ducks on them.
Gerard held his fork like a microphone. "Welcome to the Weekend Pancake Report, I'm Gerard Way." We all giggled and Mikey looked like he was tempted to throw a flapjack at him.
Mikey looked nervous. Haley was trying hey best to put him at ease. Pouring his juice for him, giving him warm smiles, even patting him on the back. It wasn't working too well.
"Hey do you have some Band-Aids? I'm about to bleed out in your kitchen." I said after I was done with my breakfast. Lord knows why I waited this long to acknowledge my wound. "Sure thing!" Haley said, getting up and going to the first aid kit that was in a kitchen drawer. She handed it to me and I found my way to the downstairs bathroom to clean myself up a bit. I ran warm water over the scrape and then slathered some triple antibiotic ointment on a bandage and stuck it to my knee.
After I was finished, I walked back into the kitchen to see Gerard smoking a cigarette out of an open window and Mikey furiously tapping on his phone.
"Where's Haley?" I asked. "Went up to change. She's pretty cool, actually. Don't tell her I'm smoking in here, though. She might kick my ass." Gerard said, blowing smoke out of his nose. The cold air coming from the open window was making me shiver.
"That sounds very characteristic of her, actually." I said, walking over and sitting in the chair next to Mikey. He set his phone down and rested his head in his hands. I felt really bad for dragging him here and making him uncomfortable. "What's up, Mikes?" I asked him. "I'm not feeling so great, I don't think she likes me all that well." He said. That made me laugh in his face. "Of course she likes you! She's been sending you major signals this whole time!" I almost yelled. Gerard laughed and added a quiet 'honestly' before stubbing out his cigarette and putting the butt in his pocket.
Mikey sighed and smiled. "Good, maybe with the reassurance I can start enjoying myself." He giggled before picking his phone back up. I glanced at Gerard who was smiling at the sight of his baby brother. The morning light was catching his eyes in a way that made them look like they were glowing. His eyes were a gorgeous hazel color, damn. What a catch.
After like fifteen minutes, Haley came trotting down the stairs fully dressed and looking really good. Her hair was straightened and ran long down her back. She was wearing a down stuffed jacket and some jeans. "Damn!" I said when she rounded the corner. We laughed and all stood up.
I looked over at Mikey and saw that his eyes were about to pop out of his head due to how hot Haley was looking. "It's a big change from the duck pjs." He said, smirking. We got out the door, and before Haley or Mikey got off the porch I grabbed Gerard's hand and dragged him to the back seat to sit right by me. I wanted to make sure that Mikey and Haley sat by each other. Mikey rolled his eyes and Haley scoffed and smiled. I knew they would be great with each other.
Soon we were on our way to the ice rink, and Mikey and Haley would not stop talking. Meanwhile, Gerard and I were just sitting quietly. At some point I snuggled under his arm and it was really comfy and warm. He looked down at me and kissed my forehead. I smiled sweetly just as Mikey turned on some Iron Maiden. "Oh shit, Mikes! Turn it up!" Gerard said, quickly jumping from his seat, dislodging me from under his arm. He must've noticed the disappointed look on my face, because he quickly sat back down and we resumed our previous seating arrangement. How adorable is he?
