Harry wandered down the corridors of the Hogwarts express, looking for his three favorite students.
"Hey guys." He said poking his head into their usual compartment "Oh, sorry."
The frightened first years in the compartment were most definitely not Lily,Teddy and James.
"That's alright professor." A blonde boy Harry recognized as Bryson Malfoy said "He went down the corridor if you're looking for James."
"Thank you Bryson."
"You're welcome."
Harry continued to walk down the corridor until he saw his old compartment. He glanced inside and saw the students he was looking for. James was examining a chocolate frog card and Lily and Teddy were discussing the merits of a map.
"I honestly believe it could e very handy." Lily said
"Me too. I mean, imagine how much mischief we could get away with." Teddy agreed
"Exactly!" Lily laughed
"It does come in handy." Harry said "a lot."
"Professor!" Lily yelled "You scared me."
"Sorry Lily." Harry laughed
"you need something dad?" James asked
"No, just wanted to talk."
"Okay."
"Who'd you get?"
"You, again." James laughed "I can never get Uncle Ron or Aunt Hermione."
"They're almost as rare as Dumbledore."
"Tell me about it."
"I have six Ron and five Hermione, Fangs." Lily said "You should have said something, I can never find a Harry card!"
"Trade you." James and Teddy said together
The three friends traded cards and Harry watched in amusement.
"Ready for this semester?" Harry asked "Exams come fast."
"Don't say that!" Teddy and Lily moaned
"Who knows." Harry shrugged "My second year they got canceled."
"Because a basilisk attacked your best friend,Colin Creevey and Mrs. Norris." Lily laughed
Harry winced a little at Colin's name. Years after the war and it still bothered him, he'd never been exactly kind to Colin.
"Hey dad?" A voice asked
"Hey Al!" Lily said
"Hey Lil." Al smiled "Dad, some of the Slytherins are having a issue with a particularly vicious owl."
"Going." Harry laughed
"Sit with us Al." James offered "We need some brains in here."
The four students laughed and enjoyed the rest of the trip to school.
