The thing is when people, who have heard of 5SOS but haven't really payed attention to them, hear '5 Seconds of Summer' they will most likely think of 3 things: 'the blonde lead', 'the guy who changes his hair all the time' and SLSP. As sad as it is.
Whether he likes it or not Luke Hemmings is the inofficial lead of 5 Seconds of Summer and therefore represents this band even more then the other 3. The fact he looks like a poster boy which lots of younger girls will fall for doesn't help.
There's a saying that goes 'The woman you choose will represent you. So choose wisely'. But by being associated with Arzaylea and the stuff she does, he most certainly doesn't get the best publicity for him and the band.
The fact is right now they're attracting lots and lots of younger fans who are in their teenage years. Some of them are easily influenced by people, their opinions and the sort of girls the guys date. I'd hate for them to think the way Arzaylea behaves on social media is okay. It's not, it's going to backfire and can come back and bite you in the arse years later. She is by no means a role model.
But those younger fans will grow up one day and are most likely to outgrow their 5SOS phase and what then? Because right now Luke Hemmings is burning most of the bridges 5SOS have build with their older fans. Unlike 1D; 5 Seconds of Summer don't have the financial stability to survive losing fans. Because as much as I hate to say this, with the way they're going right now, they will not last.
Yes, they created the New Broken Scene and it's amazing what it stands for and it's great they're creating that safe space, but if people like A keep butting in and steal the attention away from what actually matters, this movement will not be able to grow to it's required extent.
They started out being known as 1D's little brothers and now they want to be known as 5 Seconds of Summer, a rock band. But managing that switch is hard. Sounds Good Feels Good is a good, solid album, but it is not something that I see lasting for years.
The music business is a fast paced, cruel world. Especially if you have a shitty management behind you. Hi or Hey is a nice idea, but then again it doesn't help if the first band you decide to sign has an incredibly problematic past either. It doesn't set a good tone for the label and where it seems to go. So their focus should be on the fans, interacting, appealing both age gaps and growing as artists.
Having people like Arzaylea constantly riling up the fans and playing with their feelings does not help at all. Not to mention it's unfair on the other guys. If he keeps letting her walk all over him, the band, and the fans he will wake up in a motel room one day, all alone and he will wonder what happened. All the fans will have left and he's back to where he started.
You can hate me all you want, but this is the ugly truth.
I want luke to be happy and all but she is not the way to go, the boys haven't been around as long as 1D nor have as many fans, before the boys decide to put so much time on their 'relationships' they should work on getting a more stable fanbase.
Luke should have also realized that A isn't the best thing for him nor the boys, nor his fanbase, she is a bad example and part of him probably knows that but he's still young and he doesn't want to realize.
like, Luke blocking fans? no. The fact that him and the boys only have a couple million fans (and trust me, in the fame factor, that's NOTHING) they should be focusing on building the relationships with fans they have,(and gaining new ones) ESPECIALLY the older ones because we are the ones who mainly spread the word about them.
Luke being with A is the equivalent to Luke walking up to a fan and saying the worst things to them, It's not right. He's burning bridges he needs most, and as sad as I am to say this, If this continues they will be right back to square one, He could actually be the reason 5sos goes downhill, If he fucks up (mainly because he is the most popular with the younger fans) all of the boys have to pay, and that's not fair.
Not to mention finances, They could barely afford a flight one time, IT COSTS MONEY to drop these albums, to afford guitars and drums

thats $5.099.97 plus ashtons drums=$704.09997 + clothing,planes,cars,hotels,food, studio renting, editors, sound producers., interviews.etc
5sos aren't stable enough in any category to joke around.
you see how 1D are taking a break till 2017? If 5sos were to do that they would lose 90% of the fanbase, i bet.
Back to the point. Before the boys go out 'searching for love' they should be searching for ways to be in tact with the fans because in reality, we're the ones holding them up and if they lose us they loose everything. simple as that.
