This update is dedicated to {Dragon_rider_helina} for never once giving up on this story. You gave me the will to continue sweety, thank you!
They were closing in, Hiccup had to think quick and act now. He ripped up his own shirt and sweater and rolled up the fabric into a ball.
"I'm sorry Jack" he warned before quickly pulling out the blade and pressing the ball of fabric into the wound.Of course, Jack let out a cursed scream and clawed at the dirt underneath him. The pressure on the wound was beyond painful, but he knew it would stop the bleeding.
Hiccup got another long fabric, torn from his shirt to wrap it around Jack's torso to hold it in place."H-hiccup...just go, you know where to go" Jack's voice began to slowly fade away.
"What? No no no, don't pull that crap with me I'm not leaving you" he instantly fought back.
"Well isn't that sweet" Pitch's voice purred from behind. Before Hiccup had time to react, he was on the floor gasping for breath from the blow he took to the chest. It was too quick, almost inhumane.
"No.." Jack tried to stand but the tall man stepped in his chest, causing the bandages to stain with more blood and Jack groaned in pain. He swore his ribs were at the verge of snapping any second.
"Look at you, you were such a great assassin, sad you had to turn soft, if only I knew, I would've killed you when you were just a brat" pitch chuckled while watching Jack struggle.
"Leave him alone!" Hiccup yelled and jumped onto Pitch's back, effectively prying him off Jack and onto the floor.
Jack took the time to take the breath his lungs desperately needed while trying to stand. The lack of oxygen was already straining his body from even being able to see clearly.
The other two we're at each other like a rabid wolf and a fox. Hiccup unfortunately, taking the most damage from being over thrown by Pitch. It wasn't long before he was pinned on the floor with the man's larger hands on his neck, squeezing the air out of him. Pitch, having lost his weapon during the fight, was excelling fast in sucking the life out of Hiccup.
"Y-mphhh-" no words were audible coming from Hiccups blood stained lips. Face slowly losing color and eyes tinting red, he weakly turned his head only to see, Jack was no longer on the floor. Before he gave his last breath, the weight was lifted, coughing and gasping for breath. His blurry vision caught a glimps of Jack and Pitch fighting near the frozen river.
One wrong step from both of them, they were fighting on the slippery ice.
Hiccup, slowly stood up and scurried around until he found the knife he had taken out of Jack.
His mind was still trying to gasp reality, he mindlessly stared at the blood-stained metal While everything spun and rang against his ears. It took a few seconds, but he managed to regain his mind and vision before he ran to the two men. Pitch being distracted, hiccup took the opportunity to lounge at him and lodge the knife into Pitch's chest.Jack quickly grabbed pitch's arm just as Hiccup jumped down to throw him into the thinner part of the ice causing it to crack and break away.
"Go Hiccup!" Jack yelled and hiccup was quick to run to land again.
Jack unfortunately, got only half way before the ice completely broke down and engulfed him. Thick layers of ice floated downstream, only the screams of Hiccup calling out to him could be heard as it floated out of his vision."Jack!! Jack please!!!" Hiccup desperately stood at the edge, watching as more ice slid down the river. Soon his screams faded and were replaced by the gently ripples of waters and small clanks of the ice grinding against each other.
Once again, Hiccup found himself lost, confused, and completely vulnerable.
Jack.
His friend
His love, was dead.
