Everyone has their moments when they feel as if time completely stops or moves slower.  Many occasions can trigger such feeling, for example; a mother, about to receive her first born child, the groom watching his bride to be walking down the isle, even when a child experiences their first fall off a bike.

During these brief times people tend to notice the smallest of details. How one strand of hair waves within the wind, the unique pattern of the fog swirling off their lips on a cold winter's night. Even the deep husky breaths erupting from their chests.

This moment of time manipulation was caused by a reunion. Not your tipical kind of meeting on an airport while 'coming home' plays on the background.

This one was different, more deadly, more....emotional.

"Oh my god Hiccup" Jack breathed out and took a few steps forward. Just for that moment, his mind had completely forgotten the direct orders, heck, he even forgot about his murderous life.

Each step the white haired man took, was a year of memories returning to his fogged up mind. This boy, this small, green eyed freckled boy was the reason he was so emotionally constipated. He didn't know whether to be furious, sad, happy. But emotions didn't matter as his hand reached up to touch the auburn mans cheek.

Hiccup tensed and closed his eyes, the touch, felt so dam familiar. Before he could relax, Dagur's words burned through his mind. 'Bring me his head or yours will take it's place'

Traumatizing, it burned a hole through his head that sent a painful reminder that he was nothing but a man with no future. Following orders, being abused, physically, mentally, and even used as a toy to satisfy his boss' needs.

Recoiling from the touch, he stared into those icy blue eyes, the ones that had already brought back faint memories, and backed away.

"I-i don't know you" lies.

"Please, you have to" Jack desperately searched within those eyes, for a sign, anything, to show the shy, stubborn, and confident boy, he had fallen in love with all those years back, was still there.

"No!" Hiccup took a few more steps back and began to make a run for it.

"Hiccup!" Jack was quick to give chase, managing to mimic the jumps on the rooftop and down a fire escape of an old apartment building.

Hiccup couldn't control where his feet took him, but they soon found themselves running  out of city limits and into the forest. One boy running from the truth, the other giving chase to make him realize it.

Heavy panting and dry pine needles crunching under their boots. Hiccup and Jack jumped over fallen trees and dodged the others. Unfortunately for the smaller male, Jack managed to catch up and tackle him down on the moss cushioned ground.

"Let go! I don't know you!" Hiccup's cries bled pure lies as he threw his head back in the struggle. His arms pinned to the side, Jack settled on his hips and hovered over him.

"Stop lying to yourself! You do, remember"

"No!"

"Yes!"

"I don't want to!" Hiccup's voice cracked in a silent cry and closed his eyes tightly. "I don't want to remember, I'm scared"

"Hic..."

"Please let me go, or it will be difficult for the both of us" he pleaded.

Jack couldn't process the emotions going through him. He had completely forgotten, his mission, his deed. But how could he do it?

"No" at those words Hiccup broke down crying. He felt so vulnerable, so weak, so broken. He was too drunk in his tears to even acknowledge his body shift and being lifted off the ground by a pair of strong arms.

"Sleep" Hiccup heard a faint voice speak. He rested his head on Jack's shoulder and stared at the side of his face before his eyes got heavy, and surrendered to sleep.
