Chapter 1

BEEP. BEEP. BEEP.
"Danyella! Wake up!" My mother shouts from the other side of the house. "I'm up!!" I shout back. Truth is, I've been up since two in the morning. Something has been bothering me ever since that new family moved in down the street. "Danyella!" I look at my clock again, and see I'm five minutes late to my lesson. Shit. I quickly get ready for the day, and run to my mom's study. "I'm here, mum. Sorry I was a little late." I tell her, afraid she will get pissed at me. "It's fine, Danny, it was the first time it happened, and you were on a break for two weeks." I sigh inwardly, thankful that she understands. You see, we don't get along that well, because she is always working. Therefore we don't have a lot of bonding time. Then again, I am 17, turning 18 in two weeks. "What's this lesson about?"

   That's how I spent 2 hours of my morning. The next hour or two is spent in town. When I get there, it is oddly deserted. What happened here? I think to myself. "Hey." I whip myself around to come face to face with a boy about my age, maybe a year or two older then me. "Um, hello?" It comes out more of a question. Good going, Danny, real smooth. My inner voice chastises me. "What's your name?" He asks me. "Danny." I don't dare tell him my full name, I don't want the new boy calling me Danyella. As I wait for him to answer, I look at him. He has dark brown hair with green here and there. Much like my hair, only mine is black with purple every where. His eyes are a dark blue, much like the midnight sky. Whereas my eyes are a boring green. He's slightly taller than me, I would say 5'6". "Asher." Is all he says before he asks me another question. "Do you mind if I join you? I don't know where anything is in this town." I think for a minute. Say yes you idiot! He's hot and he wants you to show him around! After to listening to my inner voice, I agree.
