A week has passed and I'm turning 18 in a few days. Asher and I have become good friends. He's been acting weird all week. I'm starting to think him showing up the week before my birthday and becoming friends, is not a coincidence. I'm sitting in my room reading my favorite book, The Iron Fey series. I'm half way through the fourth book when I hear a tapping against my window. I quickly dismiss it as a bird or the wind. As it continues, I can't help but start to get frustrated. 15 minutes passed and it is still tapping. I get up and go to my window, what I find was not what I expected at all: it's Asher throwing pebbles. I open the window and a pebble hits my forehead. "Asher! What the hell are you doing?" He looks up at me, "What does it look like I'm doing?" "Well you hit me in the head with a pebble. What do you want?"
He starts climbing the tree that sits right in front of my window about 3 feet from my house. "Can I come in?" Move out of the way idiot. "Uh, sure." I move out of the way hand he jumps into my room with a somersault and lands back on his feet, in the middle of my room. He spins around in a circle, taking in my room. It's not that special, just a small room with book selves dominating one wall, a desk, my bed, a light, and then my dresser. "Nice room. Cozy, I like it." I'm broken out of my reverie by Asher, who is now staring at me. "Thanks, I think."

He decided it would be fun to go through my closet. He's been pulling out clothes for me to put on, as if I'm in a fashion show. "Asher? What is the point of this?" I ask him for the tenth time already. "I'm trying to find you a perfect 18th birthday outfit." I stare at him, and before I can say anything else, he throws more clothes on the pole I'm holding, covering my mouth. Why are you still doing this? You know that's not the only reason he's picking out clothes for you. I thank my inner voice for that pep talk. "I've had enough," I threw the clothes on my bed, "what are you really doing here? Why are you keeping secrets from me?" I trail off at the end, not sure if I'm truly hurt or mad. I saw Asher sigh, his shoulders sank, and he turned around slowly. "We should go for a walk." He says, rather than answer my question and by this time I'm freaking out. "What do you mean?! Go for a walk?!? What the hell is going on!?!" "Danny, please calm down, I'll explain everything, but I rather not have your mom come home and find you flipping out on me." He says and this time, I don't argue when he grabs my hand and try to ignore the sparks.
