"How is that even possible?!" I ask Asher, after he helped me up. "Technically, it's not, but for the more powerful the bloodline, the more powerful the powers are." To test this newfound information, 'OK that kind of made sense, but I'm still confused as hell.' He looks at me and smiled a knowing smile.

"I know you are, confused, I mean. And I'm a little hurt you didn't believe me." I blush and try to cover it up with laughter, praying that it's too dark for him to see it. This, his playful and joking side, I can deal with. I actually kind of like it. "That's good to know. I'm glad you like this side of me." I look over to him, shocked. "You have to quit doing that! It's invading my privacy!" He laughs lightly, "Babe, you said that out loud, I didn't read your mind," he pauses, "that time."

I huff in annoyance. I watch him use his powers to gather sticks. "Asher, what are you doing?" He smiles, still concentrating on his work. "I'm building us a fire." He says like its the most common thing to say. "Ok, how do I ask him this?" I mutter to myself. "Asher, why are you building us a fire?" He looks up at me with a mischievous glint in his eyes.

"We're gonna start training you, with your birthday coming up, the council will start trying to get to you and bring you back. So to prevent that, I'm going to help." I look at him and I see the sincerity in his eyes, ok that's just the sweetest thing anyone has done for you. You don't think I know that? His cheeky grin is the only thing I have to go off to know that he heard that conversation.

"So what are we going to do first?" He looks at me from
The corner of his eye, smirks, and says "We sleep." I look at him incredulously. "What do you mean, 'We sleep'?" He continues with the fire when he replies. "Well, when you're really tired, you get in to bed and close your eyes, until you wake up the next morning."

I give him a blank stare, "I know that moron, why are we sleeping here?" He prepares a tent, by snapping his fingers. "Because, tomorrow morning we start your training." My mouth shapes an 'O' as I nod my head. He chuckles, and stands up wiping is hands on his jeans. His next words send the butterfly's in my stomach on a fluttering mission... "Let's sleep, shall we?"
