The Halloween glow of the rooms, orange cascading light with dark shadows, was throughout all the rooms, and two rooms down from Lee, his sister sat in a chair unable to see because she knew she was blindfolded. Her hands were bound, her forehead sweating bullets, she heard the screaming, too, and, contrary to Lee's beliefs, Angie was not the source of the screams. Angie's head "looked" around the room. Of course, she couldn't see anything because of the blindfold, so she just rocked her head around, trying to figure something out, something that wouldn't get her killed but that would get her out and on the road.

There was a noise, metal hitting metal. Angie stopped moving and ceased breathing, straining to listen in the dark.

Footsteps.

Stop.

Right in front of her, had to be. Her chest thumped-thumped-thumped her heart so loud! She strained to listen and felt hot air on her nose. She listened closely.

Breathing.

That's what it was. Breathing. Someone was breathing on her. She let air release from her mouth and it might have sounded like a gasp—who knows?

He did.

"Doooon't be afraiiid." the voice said in a haunting monotone voice. He sounded stoned, like he was higher than the empire state. But the frightening thing was that he was probably more sober than she was now drunk on adrenaline.

She let out a sigh/grunt noise from her mouth, really just air releasing from her mouth.

"I won't hurt you, no-no-no. . ." the voice said.

Shoes clicked around her.

Circling.

Vultures over a carcass in the Serengeti. Lions closing in for the kill on their prey. Crows around a body.

"But Dandy will. Dandy's a good-boy. He needs growing good food. To get up-up in the skyyyy."

Hands, touching her head. Fingers, running through her hair.

"And he looovvveesss yoouuuu. . ." the voice said and then a wet thing, a tongue, runs up her cheek and then down. And then old, crackling lips touch hers and she closes them.

A sharp, stern voice screams: "Don't you look away from me! I am going to FIX YOU AND YOU WILL NOT IGNORE ME! YOU WILL GIVE ME WHAT I WANT. GIVE. ME. LOOOOVVVVE!"

Tears go down her face, but the blindfold must stop them. They have to. It wouldn't be good for him to see her cry.

"Dooon't crrrryyyy." he reassures her. "I won't huuuurtttt you. I just WANT TO LOVE YOU." he grits at the end.

Footsteps, click-clacking away. The metal slams shut and there is silence.

And the screaming starts back up.
