Angie swung her legs off the table and stood on them. They were shaky and she was crying and afraid. With her left hand she took the blindfold out of her mouth and threw it to the ground. Then she picked it up and put it on her wound, crying out as she did so. Then she looked around the kitchen. There was the metallic table and counter behind it and a grill by the rectangular window that looked out into the main room of Road House, on the counter was various tenderizers and spices and supplies. There was also a block of knives.
Angie grabbed the biggest one as she faintly heard a scream and then went to the door in the kitchen that led down. She stood next to it, her arm pumping blood, as she tried stopping it with a rag. She would die very soon should she not get to a doctor soon. But she stood by the door, waiting for Dandy to come back from killing Lee. She'd either get the old man or Dandy on their way in, then it would be over for her. She'd do a left hook as soon as the door opened and stick the knife in Dandy or the old man's chest, and then she'd run or die. She began to cry but held it in and waited quietly.
Shaking, shaking, shaking. Her hands just wouldn't stop shaking, and her sobs were quiet, but constant.

Lee climbed the ladder fast. When he got up, he came to another, shorter hallway that had a door that belonged to a kitchen. He rolled his neck quickly, it popped with a crack of relief. Then he ran to the door, put his ear to it, and then pushed it open. He took on step through and looked to his left and saw Angie, but there was also a strong pain in his chest.
He looked at her and said: "We gotta . . ." he looked at his chest, saw the knife, "Go. . ." he finished and then collapsed on the ground.
Angie began to sob his name, pulling at him to get up, his body was in the way of the door. It didn't close.
There was a loud bang down below, followed by loud wailing of the word "daddy".
Dandy was coming.
