Katie's POV
It's quiet, it's always quiet.

Ive  never enjoyed this, I like music, or talking, or anything other than this.

Not even the moans of the dead can be heard anymore.

But I know it isn't safe out there, it's never safe anymore.

My name is Katie lynx, but everyone calls me kit.

Well, I'm a shy quiet girl, not many people notice me

But when I get mad or passionate about something I get a little crazy.

Anyways, I grew up in a small town right outside of Atlanta.

Both of my parents were angels to me, up until my father passed away.

He died in a car accident on his way home from one of my my sisters parent-teacher conferences.

Ever since then my mom has been pulled away. She started to drink so it was pretty much just me taking care of lily.

I went to collage for two years, hoping to become a doctor.

That dream was quickly cut short when this outbreak thing happened.

Now I'm stuck in this stinky, hot building with drooling, flesh eating freaks walking around outside.

I've been in here for about three days now, and I just ran out of food.

But like I said before, it's so quiet in here.

I know that I need to find a group soon because I know that I can't make it on my own.

Almost on cue I hear two pairs of heavy footsteps approaching the store I'm held up in.

'Oh please please please don't come in here' I think to myself.

But of coarse I hear three loud bangs on the front door, then a moment of silence.

Maybe they left, maybe I won't have to come face to face with them.

But what if they could have helped me? What if they had a group?

The loud shattering of glass makes me jump, 'oh shit'

I start to tip toe very slowly behind me, hoping to avoid these people.

But with my luck, I trip over something and land flat on my back.

The air is knocked out of my lungs and a thud can be heard as the door behind me starts to move.

Growling noises are getting louder and louder as I try to scramble to my feet.

But I have no such avail, three geeks break through the door and stumble over to me.

My eyes widen and I'm stricken with fear, my body won't move although my mind screams for me to run.

A geek pounced on top of me, I shriek as I try to push it off of me.

I can't believe these things are so strong.

The one currently crushing me is a male, probably around his mid to late thirties.

His light blue polo shirt and dark gray jeans  are ripped and bloody, the horrible stench of death and blood  fills my nose.

His horrible, disease ridden teeth get closer an closer to my face, threatening to make me a geek happy meal.

All of a sudden the weight is lifted off of me and I can catch my breath.

In an instant, all three of the geeks are on the floor and two men are standing over me.
