Darkblood's POV

Dad's scales were warmer than usual.

I sat up, my eyesight blurry and disorientated; his hoard a mere splendour of golden colour in the sunlight to my current perception.

Shadowbane, my twin brother, had obviously left early for his meeting with the Emtheriess.

This dispirited me greatly, I was looking forward to spending the morning with him, but since he became a Mountainious his hands were filled to the brim with responsibility; if you were a terrible high-ranking commander, you wouldn't even be capable of controlling an army of humans, well, full-blooded humans anyway.

Dad shifted in his sleep, curling his tail tighter around my slim body. Normal humans would cringe at the icy, cold touch, but I embraced it, it was a part of my other half.

Better get up.

I stretched my arms, luckily Dad kept my deceased Mother's house rented out for mine and Shadowbane's use, and it wasn't that far either.

Breakfast, here I come.

The dress I wore made me look like a twelve-year-old girl.

Most regarded me weirdly whenever I walked down the street in public. I knew their thoughts, and I could assure them that I am not gay or transgender.

Skai, my mentally unstable forefather, claimed it on me being raised by dragons instead of my human half.

Though, I guess I did get the habit from my father, that as well as my filthy casual attitude towards the most dangerous of situations - mainly pissing off my forefather who absolutely despised me.

Toast or cereal?

On most days it was raw venison or whatever I sunk my talons into, and generally this was because my father decides to bugger off with my Delusiniun companion, Nari.

But, today I thought, screw it, and left her at home.

I poured the cereal into the bowl; Shadowbane had obviously been here earlier as half the box was empty.

By Darksanity, why was he the one with a bottomless stomach?

At least I could beat him in an arm wrestle; no amount of bulging muscle can save anyone from my godly strength!

My head began spinning.

I shrugged it off and picked up the milk jug.

Then, it hit me.

Because the next minute I know, I'm not even in my own universe anymore.

***

She tensed, her eyes glazed over.

One of part Dark Delusiniun blood was traversing through the universal barrier.

Slowly, laughing to herself, the mighty dragon took to her feet.

Here was finally something she could track...

And kill.

***

This was complete, utter, crud.

How hard is it, to simply enjoy a bowl of bloody cereal without being whisked away to another universe in a random forest?

"I swear to Setting-Sun, if I can't eat this fricken bowl of cereal, I'm gonna-"

Then I stopped in mid-sentence when I saw him.
