Darkblood's POV

Great.

Just great.

Everything felt confined to me as the green gas started to fill up the room, dulling my dragon senses immediately.

God damn it! Dark! I can't! My senses!

"Nari!?" I call out, feeling frantically for her sword form by my side.

She wasn't there.

"Degrantè?" I call out, choking on rogue tears, "April? Trist? Anyone?"

By The Guardians! What in their name was this?

Fear gas... the sort that slayers use Dark.... I .... I ... don't know how long I can talk to you Darkblood.....

"Nari!" I cry out, feeling the ground for her frantically, "Where are you?"

I can't let you see me... like this... please... don't look for me...

"Nari?" I sob, "Please! I don't care! Where are you?"

... Dark.... You can't see me... not like this.... Never in the fate of Path like this....

"Nari? NARI!" I scream, gripping my head tightly, "Please don't! DON'T LEAVE ME ALONE!"

Dark, don't cry, please don't cry.... I can't.... you mustn't..... he's.... Skai.... Sorry....

Her words were fading into nothing swiftly; it was as if she was becoming a mere shadow herself.

Be.... Please..... Brave..... Dark......

"NARI! DON'T LEAVE! PLEASE?! DON'T LEAVE ME!" I sob, collapsing to the ground as I began to lose sense of my surroundings, and my sense of where I was.

Stay..... Defiled...... protect you....

The warmth was fading, I no longer felt her smile, I no longer felt her presence...

..... I no longer felt the presence of the one that had become my mother in those eight years......

The darkness zoomed in quickly, there was nothing but cold surrounding me. No joy, and no colour seeped in.

Only fear, and pain...

Darkblood....... Child......

I began to cry.

But that was soon stopped when I recognised the blue jeans before me...

"Crying are we half-blood? My, I wish I could grant you some pity, you useless piece of trash, but it seems that mine has been spent on some other half-blood whom I despise."

There was spite in her tone, but I refused to make contact with her, "Why aren't you succumbing to the gas as well?" I snarl.

She meekly laughs "The question is, am I even here Bladestorm? A few words of advice for you and your so called friends half-breed! Vaarlilx Qlx!" she chortles.

I narrowed my eyes "Give up? We won't give up! We will-"

"Rethink what you are doing, Qaeuaeèzuqaeèlx Blèdnaèven! Are you following the right path? Or will you end up as the Defiled Guardian? Your namesake!" she sneers, circling me, the Dark Delusinian she was throwing at me was defined by hate.

I snarl, unable to stand tall as the gas began to take its effect on my mind "You are too sure of your plans!" I snap, "What makes you think you'll win?"
