Darkblood's POV
That was something we expected of the distress transmission.
Death.
And a lot of it at that, but witnessing someone die like that, a cringing mess, made my heart stop.
But, then there was the location of the vault.
I was concerned for the puzzles the dying boy mentioned, would they be difficult?
Why had I been sent here?
I sat down on a tree stump, as I felt air catch in my throat.
"Hey. Darkblood's stopped." Trist slinked over to me and squatted down beside me
"We've been walking for hours guys; we should rest."
I faced April as I took in her words; she sat down on a fallen tree while Degrantè remained standing, a serious expression on his face.
It was obvious that he wanted to keep moving, but something in the air was disturbing my dragon being immensely, something unearthly...
"Hello, Darkblood Bladestorm."
I tense immediately; I hadn't given anyone here my last name.
"Relax half-blood; I am of no threat to you or your pitiful friends."
The voice was coming from a full-grown female human, with long blonde hair tied up in a pony-tail, a leather jacket covered her glistening white shirt, and blue jeans.
The green eyes regarding me with little interest seemed to glow with an eerie light.
"Who in the name of Darksanity, are you?!" I demanded, going to pull out Nari.
Wait.... Ugh... WHY TODAY, OF ALL DAYS HAD I DECIDED TO NOT BRING HER?! WHY NAMESAKE WHY?!
She dismissed my fears with a simple wave.
"Relax, I am simply here to help you," she purrs.
"Help me?" I quiz.
I felt a sharp jab to my side, but I brush it off. Trist saw her too didn't he?
"Dragon to dragon - even though your blood is impure, you are still considered one, yes? Good, good, Bladestorm is an honourable name, no wonder you are here," she hisses, raising an eyebrow.
I smiled, there wasn't very many others who accepted me as a dragon.
"Thanks for the flattery, what is your main goal if I may ask? Not very many dragons of full-blood appreciate a half-blood, no matter their name," I snarl, feeling slightly threatened.
"Darkblood!" one of the others called my name.
She grins "See through it, do you Bladestorm? My, my you remind me of an old companion. I am here to kill you, but since this is something I won't be doing for a while... I'll see if you are worthy to face me in combat. First wave half-blood, I suggest you get your pathetic friends out of here before they are harmed, I have a forgotten deity on my side to kill you, even if he isn't aware of it yet," she snarls back, her pupils thinning to slits.
Then she vanished.
"Darkblood! Are you all right? You were talking to yourself!" April shakes me by my shoulders, staring at me wide eyed.
I cock my head at her, confused. The woman was right there, right there.
"He wasn't speaking to himself," Trist murmurs, "I felt something there."
