I breathed a long sigh. Nothing... Seriously, I couldn't feel anything. I wasn't hungry, I wasn't sleepy, I wasn't cold, hot. I felt nothing.
But in some way it was peaceful. I couldn't remember feeling so stress-free. Ever.
Even with my eyes closed I could feel strong, penetrating light. Sun, I thought. But I didn't feel it. Wich was weird, bright sunlight should hurt my eyes and make me feel warm, better, alive.
Oh, fine, whatever. I was completely numb.
I curled up in my bed...
In my bed? Wait, the grass was waving around my legs softly, like feathers.
Feathers...
Grass...
I started to try to remeber, but decided I didn't want to think that hard.
„Stop. No thinking." I smiled.
I wondered for a second were I was, but in some reason it didn't seem that important.
But... what I'd gotten here?
And then I heard it. A little giggle. It seemed familiar so I opened my eyes.
He stood over me, the big smile on his handsome face grew bigger.
„Hey, beautiful."
My memory crashed back.
„Where am I?" I asked him totally confused.
„Baby, this is the Purgatory."
„Omg. I did it! We did it!"
„And what exactly did you do?"
I looked at him.
My first thought was, that he has the most blue eyes I have ever seen.
Focus!
I stood up slowly and looked at him suspiciously.
„Who are you?"
„Nybbas. It's a pleasure to meet you." I shook his hand with hesitation.
„Don't worry, I won't bite."
„Right." I wasn't sure about it. „I know your name but I don't know who you are. What you are."
„What do you mean?"
„A vampire? Werewolf?"
He nodded like he finally understood what I meant.
„I guess you can say I am your guide."
„My guide? To what?" I asked doubtfully.
„Purgatory is a dangerous place, especially for a girl like you."
„I am not just some fragile girl!"
„If you think so... Let's see."
He pointed at the black mirror behind himself. I didn't noticed it before, it looked really old and cracked, like someone broke it and put together with glue.
I stood in front of the mirror. I would never recognise her, the girl in front of me, staring back.
Why?
She has the same hair as mine, the same cheek bones. She reminded my a lot of myself, the girl I saw a couple years ago. Just not that innocent. Obviously, she has the hardest time of her life.
Someone could say I changed because something inside me snapped when my mother died. Some could say it's natural. But I changed because I had to.
Her eyes are completely black, so different from mine. She has something dark inside her, her face was serious, with no smile, no smirk, no life. She looks empty.
„Who is she?" I whispered, afraid of the answer.
„Don't you recognize her? That's you."
„What? No. No!" I shook my head.
I don't believe him, I can't be her, she can't be me! No way...
„This is your soul. This is how you look inside of you. You didn't expecting this, did you?"
