The ballroom was packed. Mother allowed me to come as long as I was disguised. I wore a semi curly black wig that was shoulder length, a simple halter black dress and a black mask. Everyone is wearing a mask, everyone except the Dragon Princess and her mates. I watched as the Dragon Princess glided down the grand staircase. Her curly red hair half pinned up, sharp blue eyes and a lovely green ball gown style halter dress. She is my mirror image, my best friend, my other half, Princess Elaina is my twin sister. The only difference is my eyes, I have one yellow and one blue. I half smiled. No one can know our secret.

While she was talking to the princes I slipped out onto the balcony. Looking out into the night sky. 'Soar' that word flowed into my mind. I was about to shift to my demi dragon form when I was interrupted.

"It's even a better view while running through the forest." A low, almost sensual growl sounded behind me.

I glanced to see who it was. Wolf clan Prince was leaning against the railing, staring at me. "Why are you not with the Princess?" I lowered my eyes and looked at the forest.

"We can't all dance at once, " he chuckle "Why are you out here?"

Hoping he would leave I ignored him. But to my frustration he didn't.

"Your eyes are beautiful. I barely caught it, but one as a wolfs eye, yellow in color, and the other, reminds me of a clear blue sky, that is very unique." I turned to go inside. He caught my hand. "Wait, please stay."

"I need to go." I tried pulling my hand from his but to no avail.

"Please? I'm enjoying your company. The princess.. she is well, kind of cold. I need someone with fire to talk to."

"She may seem cold to you but she is just nervous. I mean she will have four mates now and she is overwhelmed. Any woman would be."

"I think you would handle yourself just fine." A wicked smile spreads across his face. "So what clan are you with? I can't get a distinguish smell." I laughed as I pulled my hand from his then slipped into the ballroom and losing him in the crowd. I quickly leave out the entrance and shift to my demi form. My dragon wings, shimmered red with black highlights, spread out glad to be able to fly. I take off for my balcony to my room. I landed then stripped bare, tossing the wig aside, I shifted into a falcon speeding over the forest.

I returned to my room just as the sun started to lighten the sky. Exhausted, I nibbled on some fruit my maid left me and then laid down. Sighing, I closed my eyes and a soft knock sounded, then the door open.

"I'm sorry princess, but your sister is upset and calls for you." My sister's maid curtsied as she spoke. Jumping out of the bed and slipping on a dress I then headed for my sisters room. As I arrived, I rushed passed my sister's other maids and wrapped my arms around Elaina.

"Please leave us for the moment." Not even looking to make sure they obeyed, I looked down at my crying sister. "Please El tell me what's wrong?" Sitting down beside her, I pulled her close and started to rub her back.

"Take a deep breath and talk when you're ready." She took a few minutes then she lifted her head and looked at me.

Sniffling she explained. "I over heard them talking." She paused. "They said that I was to cold, even for a dragon, and stated that they felt sorry for who ever took first turn." She took a deep breath" They just don't understand..." Her voice trailed off.

"El, I love you but sometimes you can come off cold especially when you're nervous. They should have never said it but you are going to have to learn how to talk to them and learn how to let them in. Pretend you're talking to me." I released her, stood up, and took a small step back. Smiling I started to wipe away her tears" How about you treat them to a picnic. Quiet and away from the pressure of people?"

"That does sound nice, but only if you come." She rushed on. "Don't say no, you can be my best friend. I'm going to need you, K." Smiling more I nod my head.

"I am your best friend" I stated winking at her. "Rest up and then get ready for a noon picnic. I'll prepare everything." Giving her a kiss on the cheek, I left the room and went to prepare the picnic.  On my way out I stopped her maid and told her to have the cooks get a picnic meal ready for 6 and to let her sleep for a bit then have her ready before noon. Then I continued until I came across my maid and had her ask if the Princes would join the Princess and a friend for a picnic. As my maid left I continued to my room to ready myself.

"The things we do for sisters." I mumbled while I pinned my hair up to put on the wig. I looked myself over in the mirror. A simple green halter dress that flowed down to my knees and my semi curly black wig. I gently pulled on a strand to make sure it stayed, then walking over to my balcony I shifted to my demi form and took off for the meeting place.

Landing a little away from the picnic area, I hid my wings and straighten my dress. Walking over there I notice that they had laid the blanket and they were sitting down already. As I walked closer, the Wolf clan prince notice me and he scooted over and smiled. The other princes notice his smile and looked up. I curtsied low and took the only available seat beside the Wolf prince and the Fox prince.

"My princes let me introduce my best friend Kyleigh, Kyleigh this is Prince Ryder of the Falcon clan, Prince Spencer of the Tiger clan, Asher of the Fox clan and Prince Lucas of the Wolf clan."

I bowed my head low, "It is a pleasure to meet the Princes." I placed my hands in my lap and a fake smile across my face. Half an hour passed in small talk, Elaina started to relax and was conversing more easily with the princes. I watch as she favored Spencer with their conversation about books. 'Now all she needs to do is connect to the others and it will be will all be ok. I smiled to myself as we each stood up and packed up the picnic.

"Princess Elaina would you like to go flying with me later? I love flying." Ryder asked. "Me too" I mumbled. Elaina elbowed me as she answered Yes. I gave her a cheeky grin. As we were leaving I notice Lucas talking to Ryder but thought nothing of it.

As I landed on my balcony my maids were already filling up my tub. I walked over to my vanity carefully taking off my wig and dress, slipping on my robe waiting on the maids to finish. Once the maids finished, they left and I made my way to the tub sliding my robe off I stepped in and sank down. Sighing, I leaned my head back and closed my eyes.

"If I wasn't a gentleman.." I tensed, then with quick thinking I let out a small squeal and covered myself and shifted so my hair so it covered my right eye.

"What are you doing here? And how did you get up here?" I meekly asked, imitating Elaina.

"I came to talk to Kyleigh and instead I find this beautiful site." He informed me as he walked closer. "Ryder was kind enough to give me a lift before he went off to take a flight with Princess Elaina." Racking my brain I try to think of a plan. "Kyleigh you can look at me, I watched you take your wig off. Don't worry I was a good boy and turned when you undressed." Smirking, he moved my hair out of my face.

"Damn it! What am I to do? I can't kill you I supposed," I joked. "I just guess I'll have to trust you to keep a secret, if you can do that? Turn around and don't look."

"You wound me," he fake pouted and then turned around. I stood up and got out of the tub, walking over to my vanity I put my robe on. Then, I went and sat on my chaise.

"Ok, I'm done" He turned around and smiled, than he came over and sat down beside me. And I told him the story starting from the beginning.
