The Nerd and Prep Experiment

In grade 9 I was not well known. I was a nerdy girl. No I wasn't into comics and action figures but don't get me wrong I loved super hero movies. I was a smart kid. Sports were never really my thing. I was bad at everything in gym except soccer. School just made sense. I understood everything and had a passion for learning. I wanted to become a doctor when I was older so I guess it was a good thing I liked school. I was a honors with distinction student but I didn't like people to see me only for a smart kid. I wished that people would see me as a popular kid for once. And then this happened.

I had been asked one day during class if I would be interested in tutoring a student. The teacher gave me no clue to who I would be tutoring so I said I would. A few moments later we began our biology lab. As I looked into the ocular of the microscope I heard someone walk by. I knew it was a guy cause they smelt like axe colone. They smelt really good. Seconds later I could see they had turned around and stopped at my desk but I couldn't see who it was. I looked up from my microscope only to see Daniel standing by my side. Daniel was Mr. Popular in our school. He was on the hockey team and the football team. Every girl was love struck over him except for me. I wasn't into the rude jock type who thought they were everything and that society revolved around them. When he stopped at my desk everyone dropped what they were doing and looked back at us. "Do you happen to have a lab partner yet" he asked me. "No" I quickly replied. He sat down beside me and the first thing that came I my mind was *oh boy why did you decide to be my lab partner, why was I cursed with this*.

We started the lab and we didn't talk at all. Half way through the lab Daniel started to talk."Since you will be tutoring me I thought we should get to know each other better and I thought this would be a good opertunity." Those word shocked me a lot knowing that I would be the girl to tutor the most popular boy in the whole school. We began talking about all the classes we had, our families, our after school lives, and of course sports. The bell had gone off and we knew class was over for the day.

"Tuesdays and Thursdays good for you?" I asked." Ya we can meet at my house ever Tuesday and Thursday at 4-7 okay" "alright see you then" I replied. "See you tommrow Lillian".
