Kendrick ran as fast as he could. His paws were barely touching the ground and despite the extensive distance, he ran without falter. He has to see him. He has to see Allen. He could not bear the thought that Allen is getting away from him. He has to tell him that he felt extremely remorseful over the things that he has ever done and the things that he never did.
His wolf has gone quiet yet he knew that it was sulking. It was angry at him and it was longing for his mate. And so does he, he is angry with himself for being a coward and a self-centered idiot.
It's my fault. He thought. It's all my fault.
Pushing his limits, he ran even faster. He has to resolve this immediately. He has to take Allen back and this time, he's going to take good care of him.

I felt rooted to where I was standing as the lady in robes disappeared in the dark. Yet plenty of questions are lingering inside my head. Who is she? Why does she look so familiar? I decided to follow her and after a few steps, I was suddenly pulled back to reality again.
Clutching my chest, I leaned on a nearby tree as I was hit by the sudden realization again and again.
I am mateless.
I have been rejected.
I took a deep breath and I realized I was sobbing. And the pain, it was too much to bear. It felt like it was eating me from the inside and a little more, I would lose my sanity.
I shifted and ran to the seer's hut. I know she can help me.
...
Finger snaps in front of my face brought me back from my reverie in an awkward and humiliating manner. "Allen! Hey! The order's ready."
I stared at the girl in front of me whose name, I recalled, was Jenny. "Uh, right. Sorry." I muttered.
She pushed the tray of food towards me from the opposite side of the counter. "Yeah." She added while a smile formed in the corner her lips. "You better deliver this fast, the customer's waiting." She said with a teasing smile. "And...that is one f*cking hot customer!" She whispered.
I was not able to resist rolling my eyes as I about faced with the tray of food in my hands, heading towards the table where the customer whom she said was- oh my goodness! He is hot!
My jaw almost dropped and I almost stumbled at my feet. Good gracious, this guy is definitely hot! I regained my balance and took a small glance at the person waiting there in his table, whose eyes, handsome eyes I must say, were looking at me. Or rather, at the food that I have with me. I gathered myself and managed to breathe as I made my way to the table.
"Here is your order, sir. I apologize for the delay." I said as I laid his orders at the table one by one, praying that my hand won't slip.
"Not a problem at all." He said in such a voice that I could describe as soothing but stimulating at the same time. And my, he smells good. Now what am I thinking?
"Uh-well, thanks. If there's nothing more, then I'll leave you to enjoy the food." I managed to mumble before stepping away from the table-large steps at that.
Dang! What happened to me?
"So? How was he?" Jenny asked with her brows cocked still with that teasing grin of her.
"How was who?" I asked.
"Duh, the man you just delivered the food into." She said. "And the man who is constantly checking you out."
