Later that evening, after eating a big dinner that felt like lead in my stomach, I trudged my way back to my room. I passed my little brother's room, and finally reached my bedroom. After I shut my door, I shuffled over to the pile of cloths I set out earlier for tonight. Dear God. I thought. This is ridiculous! I'm 16 years old, and getting tangled up with a psycho who killed someone. I should be worrying about grades. School. A freaking girlfriend, for Christ's sake! Not freaking psychos. My room was silent, letting me think more about what I'm doing. After putting on my black jeans, white shirt, and blue zip-up jacket,I called Ivan over the computer again. "Yo. What's up?" "You know what's up. I'm not so sure we should do this." Ivan looked as if I sucker punched him in his gut. "What the hell do you mean?" "I mean, we shouldn't be doing this. We are kids, dude. We shouldn't be listening to a psycho who hacked our laptops." The clock on my computer read 10:50, but I didn't care. "Ivan, there is about 306,945 people in our county. What makes you think this guy is gonna do a thing to us?" Ivan opened his mouth to answer, then shut it,probably deciding not to waste his breath. Looking at him through the screen got me thinking, with today's tech, this guy could find us. "You know what? Fine. Let's do this." Ivan's face was unreadable at the moment, but I could tell he wanted to hear those words. Ok. Open up Slender. Text me when you got it" "Ok. See you, Quin." "Later Ivan." As I exited out of the chat, the room seemed to grow colder. Trying to ignore the sudden change,I opened up the game, and stared at the jagged letters that gave this game and it's players such a thrill. Looking back, I remember when I first got this game, I was so excited. Now I felt like crying. 10:57.... 10:58.... 10:59. The text from Ivan came. You good bro? No second thoughts? I chuckled and replied back nah. Nerves of steel. Watching the clock was hard. I realized that this is what it must have been like for those who walked up to the firing squad. Knowing that something horrible is going to happen, knowing you can't stop it,and yet hoping that some how, you survive, you live, you can walk away to live another day. 11:00. My room's lights went out,as well as my alarm clock, but not my P.c. The games light cast it's eerie glow over my room, bathing me in a dull lighting. Suddenly, my P.c seemed to stretch, and extend, creating a nine foot screen standing over me. "What the living hell?" My phone went off again. I checked it and all it said was enter. After pocketing my phone. I slowly reached out, fearing that something might come out. When my hand hit where the screen usually is, it kept going. I felt like I was slowly being submerged into cold, dull needles. The farther I went, the higher up the pinpricks went. When I finally got to my shoulder, I stopped. What ever this thing was, it was pulling me. I tried to back up, but the pulling got stronger and stronger until I was yanked through the portal, "portal" being the only word to describe this thing.
