Kaitlynn's POV:
Everyone has been acting weird, or you know, weirder than usual. Very secretive and mysterious. I was determined to find out.
Niall and I have been hanging out a lot lately, and Simon has been suspicious. Jade and Emma said he was going to ask me out, but I didn't believe her, afterall, he was my best friend.
It was Saturday, and I woke up early and couldn't fall back asleep. Defeated, I crawl out of bed and get ready. I felt like playing soccer, it always helps me let out my frustrations and takes my cares away. I put on a light blue adias shirt and black gym shorts. I put ny hair up into a messy ponytail, and didn't bother with makeup. I never really wore it anyway.
It was 5 o'clock, and no one seemed to be up. I grabbed a granola bar(ok maybe the whole box), packed water and gatorade in a mini cooler,and headed out the back door. I walked out to the soccer field, and grabbed a neon soccer ball. I shot the ball into the net numerous times until I heard something, or someone walk in my direction. I turned around. It was Liam.
"Hey Li." I said. "Hey Kaitlynn, mind if I join?" "Of course not." I said.
We shot in silence until we were thirsty. I handed him a gatorade. "So, Kait, you and Niall are really close huh?" He asked unexpectedly. "Yeah, we are great friends I would say." I said. "Listen, he really likes you, and we keep urgeing him to ask you out." He blurted out. I stayed quiet. "So if he asked you, what would you say?" He asked. "I, I, umm, I don't know." I mumbled.
"Liam, you have to understand that even though we've been here a while, I haven't known him for long, and he's my best friend, and if it doesn't work out, I don't want it to be awkward." I admitted. "Yeah. Just think about it for me." He said. "Sure." I said blankly.
After a little one on one, it was nearing 7, meaning everyone would be waking up soon. I ignored the time, and me and Liam played till we dropped. We had more gatorade, and we were laughing and talking as someone came up behind us.
Niall's POV:
I woke up and felt like playing soccer. (I will get confused if I say futbol or whatever). I walked out there only to see Liam and Kaitlynn. They were laughing and chattering. I felt a pang of jealousy that Liam made her laugh. Woah, it's no big deal, but I still wish it was just me and Kaitlynn. "Hey Niall!" Kaitlynn ran over to give me a hug. Let's just say, everytime she's around me, I get killer bees, not butterflies.
"Oh, I just remembered about my coffee run! Got to go!" Liam said. He was making up some phony excuse to get us alone, I knew it. "Bring me a coffee please!" Kaitlynn called after him.
Kaitlynn's POV:
It was just me and Niall. "One on One?" I asked. "Sure." He said, in his cute accent. Wait, did I just say cute? Crap. After me and Niall tieing at 1-1, we sat down for a break. It was around 9 o'clock, and everyone was busy doing who knows what.
"Kait, you know you're my best friend, right?" He said, looking into my eyes. "Yeah." I answered. "Always remember that." He said simply. "I will, and I uh, need to go find the girls, thanks, I really had fun." I said, scared of what he was going to say.
I got to the house, and starting to feel bad for ditching Niall. "Jade, Emma, come upstairs please?"I said, seeing Jade with Louis on the loveseat, and Emma in the middle of Harry and Zayn on the sofa. They were playing some video game.
They saw the urgency in my eyes, and rushed upstairs with me. We gathered in my room, since the boys are almost always at our house, or us at their's. "Sooo?" Jade said. "I went to play soccer this morning, and Liam came to play. He said that Niall was going to ask me out, and he asked me what I would say." I said fast. "Woah. I knew it! And what would you say?" Emma said. "I, I don't know."
