Finally, home sweet home! I think as I enter my house. It took the doctors ages to allow me to exit the hospital that early. I take a good look on the inside of empty home. It wasn't too big, it was just perfect for at least three people. Though when I walk into the main hallway it feels huge without my sweet grandmother around. I climb upstairs, to check everything out.
The house hasn't changed one bit since I last saw it. Everything was in the right place; at least how I remembered. A tightness pulls at my chest. She waited so long for me to wake up. Now I'm awake and she's not here. Tears threatened to spill out, but I hold them back. Crying won't help me get over it. It's too much, I can't handle being in this home without her, so I exit the house with one more glance.
I took a long walk to the river, there I can probably have some time to wonder what I can do with my life. Stopping, I sit down near the water, the only thing that can probably calm me down. I couldn't help her, she probably died of grief. It's all my fault. Then I hear a crack toward the water, puzzled I look over to it. Impossibly, a small portion of water was frozen where it wasn't before. Ice? It's the middle of summer. My mind dart back to the glass of water at the hospital. Can it be? Slowly, I raise my hand over the water. Nothing happened. Weird... I concentrate hard, willing the water to freeze and then a layer of ice begun forming on the top of the water. A smile creeps onto my face.
Interesting.

I run down the city's sidewalk eager to test out my new ability. Darting past the streets a loud pop and piercing scream erupts in the air. The world goes silent as they are curious to see what the commotion is. Everybody begins screaming and running from a certain spot. When I am finally able to see the area of the loud pop came from, horror fills my mind. A woman had been shot in the chest and was motionlessly lying on the ground, a man carried a gun that had recently been fired was standing next to the body.
"Well, well, well! Look what we have here!" He shouts to no one in particular," Look here Flash, a poor woman was just shot. What will you do now?"
Most of the crowd had clear the area only leaving me and a few other people. The gunman cockily walks around the corpse while raising his hands.
"If you really do exist, you would come out now or else I'll start shooting some more!" He threatens.
Flash. He's talking as if it's a person. He's gotta be crazy.
"I'll give you three seconds! If you do not appear I'll shot another!" He swings his gun to me, "One. Two. Three!"
He pulls the trigger with the gun pointed at me. Time slows down, the bullet feels like in moving in slow motion, so slow that I can see it clearly. My eyes narrow as I see a red blur coming towards me. Even if the blur reaches me, the bullet will get me first.
It's not my time to die yet! Impossibly, my body moves faster than the bullet and I dodge it, then clumsily trip over my own feet. Twisting, I get a look at the blur as time slowly speeds back up. Before the bullet can hit the building behind me, the blur confiscates the gun mans weapon and immobilizes him. Time returns to normal, but not before I notice the direction the blur ran towards. That must be someone like me, somebody with an ability.
Now I know where I'm heading soon, the blur ran towards the direction of S.T.A.R Labs, I'll find him somewhere in that are.
