I double check the house number, 37. Yep this should be the right place. Hopefully she hasn't moved while I've been in a coma. Swiftly, I knock on the door hoping for the right person. About eight seconds later, a tall female opens up the door. When the door is open wide enough I slid myself in.

"Nathan? Where have you been? I haven't seen you in ages!" She says.

"Actually Emma, listen." I ask while twiddling my thumbs, "Have you noticed anything different happening in central city during the past eleven months?"

She gives me a hard look, "Perhaps so. Why do you want to know?"

"Erm... I believe I just saw something crazy, something called The Flash."

"Oh yeah, that. He appeared around a month ago, he or she-"

"He." I correct.

Emma stares a me for a long time before she says, "HE has been saving people and capturing criminals supposedly. Anyways, how do you know it's a He?"

"That's the reason I came to see you." I try to tell her, "I have so much much to tell you."

Emma Rose seats me down on a couch and enters the kitchen to make us some tea. We've been best of friends forever, we almost know everything about each other. Of course, we don't like keeping secrets from each other, telling the truth strengthens our friendship. She's also a some sort of brain scientist or something like that, and she's the perfect
to tell of my new abilities.

"So you have something to tell me?" She asks while returning with two cups of steaming green tea.

Emma hands me one of the cups and sits across from me.

"The is so much to tell yo-" but Emma cuts me off.

"Wait, wait, wait! Start from the beginning. Where were you for these past eleven months? You haven't contacted me in ages."

I then relay the events of my coma to her, and how my grandmother had passed away a couple months ago.

She raises her hand to her mouth as I finished speaking, "Oh my gosh, why didn't you tell me?"

I facepalm.

"Oh right. You were in a coma." She realizes.

Emma has always been like that, sometimes she can be a crazy smart scientist, but other times she can be really simple minded.

Finally I work up the nerve to tell her my abilities, "Emma, there's something else too. Ever since I woke up from that coma I've been feeling weird, different really. I have this ability, it's li-it's like some sort of superpower."

Emma laugh awkwardly. Is she hiding something? She never laughs like that.

"So~, you're telling me you have superpowers? Is this some kind of joke?"

"No! I'm telling the truth, go get me some water and I'll show you." If she thinks I'm crazy our friendship will probably collapse.

She went back in the kitchen and returned once more with a semi large bowl of water. Emma places the bowl on the coffe table and stands there looking back and forth toward the bowl and I.

"What are you waiting for?" She rushes me.

I place my hands above the and use extreme concentration and will the water to freeze. After a couple seconds the water begins frosting on the top. Some seconds pass, almost all the water in the bowl is nearly frozen. Cold air flows from the bowl and crawls across the table.

Awe fills her face as she stares at a once bowl of water, "This cannot be some sort of trick." Emma taps the ice to make sure.

"Believe me now?" I grin.

"There is no other way that water could have been frozen, of course I believe you!" She rushes around the table and hugs me.

"Nathan, when did you find out you could do that?"

"At the river just couple hours ago."

"Is there anything else you can do?" She asks curiously.

Good point. I think hard if there is anything else. Rippling water, freezing water... That's it. Wait!

"I-I think so. When I was about the get shot and the flash arrived it felt as if time slowed down, I should have gotten killed, but somehow I was able to dodge it. I was actually moving faster than a fired bullet."

"Now you're telling me that you nearly got killed! What is wrong with you. You just got some crazy freezing powers and now you're already getting in danger!" Emma complains.

"It's not my fau-" then she cuts me off .

"You could've at least waited until you got to me. I could help you discover your abilities and create you a super suit so you can save people." Emma crosses her arms and starts pouting.

I probably looked bewildered because she began laughing so hard she began chocking. She waves her right arm signalling that shes okay.

"You've got me on your list." She tells me while catching her breath.

"Really? That's great!" I shout excitedly.

"I'll contact you later. Can you pass me your phone, you always forget to add my number."

I hand her my phone and she inserts her contact information, when she finishes she hand it back.

"Alright. I'll see you later Emma!"

An ear splitting crack fills the air and Emma yelps with fright. I see that the bowl of water that I had frozen shattered in pieces.

"That was my favorite bowl!" Moans Emma.

She waves to me as I exit her house. Someway or another, Emma will me hone my powers and I can help people, like this Flash person. This day just keeps on getting better, powers, awesome friend, and who knows what else! Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're gonna get. Or in this case, I do know what I'm going to get.

I'm going to get the chance to help people.
