As raindrops raced down the windows the door opened to four girls. Must be my roommates…   “Oh hi!” one with long red hair said. “You must be the new roommate! I’m Rosie and this is Esme, Autumn and Adeline.” The three other girls smiled and said hello. I thought for a moment on what I should say next.

“I’m Charley,” I introduced. New friends, new life, why not a new name?

As Rosie told what Alex told me earlier, I studied my new friends. Rosie seemed to be the leader of the group with her dark red, straight hair that went a few inches past her shoulders and emerald eyes. Esme looked like a Barbie doll; she had long blonde hair and bright, baby blue eyes and moon glowing skin; I was pretty jealous. Autumn kept looking back at the clock like she needed to be somewhere. She had average light brown hair and big brown eyes. She tapped away on her leg and looked like she was trying to be patient. Adeline looked exactly like Autumn; the only difference was she had her long hair tied back in a ponytail and was about two inches shorter.

About five minutes later Autumn whispered something to Rosie and left the room.

“Okay, so we have until 6:00 for dinner so how about we show you around? Introduce you to some people,” Adeline said, speaking for the first time. I nodded in agreement.

Esme smiled at me. “Do you like the dorm? Pretty fancy huh?”

I laughed. “Yeah, it’s very different than what I originally expected. I thought everybody would be sleeping in the same room. Metal bunks, only 1 or 2 bathrooms, that sort of thing. But this place kind of reminds me of a castle…”

“Well come on! We can show you around a little more.” Rosie said motioning us to the door.

I met a lot of people as they showed me around the campus, almost too many I could hardly remember some of the names. I even saw Alex; he was hanging around a group of guys and smiled and waved as I walked by.

My roommates gaped at me as we past him; especially Rosie. “Did Alex Lucifer, the Alex Lucifer just wave at you?”

“Yeah, why? Is he like on top or something?”

Esme laughed. “Are you blind? He is completely gorgeous! And not to mention an amazing fighter!”

“He sits with us at meals only he’s barely said a word to me,” Adeline said looking at the ground.

I tried to hide the smirk on my face. I didn’t have much luck with guys at my old school but from hearing this I expect to do pretty well. “Maybe he’s just being friendly to the new girl.”

There wasn’t much speaking on the way back but there I could hear whispering between the three girls in the dorm hallway. Right as we got back to the dorm Rosie crossed her arms and stayed in the doorway. “We are going out for a little bit. Dinner’s in about one hour. See you.” And with that she slammed the door. And almost broke my nose. Guess the friend thing isn’t going to exactly work out…

After a while of sitting around playing angry birds on my phone, my roommates still weren’t back yet. I checked the time and it was 5 minutes until dinner.  I hopped off my bed and slipped on my black flip flops and walked to dinner.

I searched the room for a table to sit at. Every table was full except the one with all of my roommates in it. I thought for a moment thinking whether it’d be a good idea to go over there until I saw Alex. I put a smile on my face and walked over there. But of course right as I slipped into the nearest seat…

            “Abby’s sitting there,” Rosie sneered.

But thankfully, Alex pitched into the conversation. “Hold on I think she’s sitting over at that table isn’t she?” Rosie looked across the room and bit her lip.

I got my food and mostly listened to all of the conversations. What they plan to do over the weekend, what they plan to wear to the Halloween dance, how training’s going; It was a mostly typical conversation.

About halfway onto dinner a boy named Derek spoke. “Hey Alex where’s your brother?”

“Oh you know him; probably just in the workshops,” Alex shrugged.

Just as he finished talking a boy my age walked up to the table. He had dark brown hair, that stuck up, in his leather jacket and dark jeans he looked about the same as everyone else but there was something about him that was also different. He definitely looked to be the shy type.

Alex turned to me. “Charley I’d like you to meet my brother Wolf.”

It was the same guy I saw on the roof.
