"Adam? Are you awake?", you whispered as you crept into your bedroom. He'd needed somewhere to stay ever since he got caught out too far from home. You'd been coming in after a night out, just before dawn when you'd seen him, cowering in what little shade was left near your house before the sun came up. You'd helped him into your room and he'd collapsed exhausted. Now the sun had set, and you went in to check if he was awake. His body was still and his chest wasn't moving, his eyes closed, looking as if he were in pain. "Adam", you whispered, lying on the bed next to him, stroking his cheek, being surprised how cold he was. "You're freezing", you muttered, pulling the covers around you both as you wrapped your arms around him to give him warmth. You felt him getting warmer as you drifted off into sleep, only to be woken feeling his hand brushing your cheek, a kiss on your forehead. "Thank you", he whispered as he pulled you in closer, as you snuggled into his chest. "I'm just glad you're okay". "I am now".
