Lucy’s P.O.V

“So, where’s your mom, Vick?”

She lay on my new bed next to me, her short black hair resting on the purple satin comforter. She had her attention locked onto her IPhone, typing away with her electric blue painted fingers.

“In her office working. She said she’d just see us at dinner.” She said, eyes never leaving her phone.

I nodded as I rested my head next to hers. Water still clung to my long black hair from my shower just moments before. Vicky had to help me in and out of the shower and managed to get a good glimpse of my new scars and cuts on my torso. She hasn’t really spoken since, but she hasn’t left my side either. Knowing her, she may even sleep with me tonight to make sure Sebastian doesn’t try to steal my soul in my sleep…he wouldn’t dare.

He managed to run off earlier to discuss the arrangements with the other staff around the house.

“Does your arm hurt?” she suddenly asked.

I blinked and looked down at my broken arm in its blue sling.

“Not as much as it used to…the medication they’ve me taking is keeping it from hurting as bad. I only have to wear the sling for a couple of weeks though.” I mumbled shrugging.

“…Do they have you on any anti-depressants?”

I frowned and nodded.

“I just wonder how tortured I’d be if they weren’t drugging me up as much as they are, Vicky…” I murmured.

She dropped her phone next to her and turned onto her side so her face was only inches from mine.

“You just gotta take it one day at a time, Luce. Try to look at the bright side; we’re like real sisters now with us living together.” She said and grinned.

I giggled and faced her just as a little white ball of fur jumped onto the bed, purring like a well oiled machine.

“Well hello there, Gemini. How’s my pretty baby liking her new home?” I asked as I pet her soft head.

She just answered by leaning further into my hand. I guess I’ll take that as a yes.

Vicky left shortly after, getting ready for dinner. I lay on my new bed, curled up in the fetal position with Gemini resting a few inches in front of my face. Her soft machine-like purring relaxed me, my shoulders slumping and eyes growing heavy.  I hadn’t noticed just tired I was until I was on my merry way to my dreams, when my door suddenly clicked open.

“Young Miss, I’ve organized- Oh…”

His voice was soft but had an edge, an almost sexy alluring sound to it. I assume that comes with being a demon… you need some way to lure your prey in. I found myself wanting to just… hear him speak.

He silently walked over to wear I lay, my eyes still closed and my breathing deep.

“Miss, dinner will be ready soon. Would you like to skip supper to rest?”

I slit my eyes open and caught his crimson gaze, not even flinching at the uneasiness of the shade.

“Sit down, Sebastian.”

He blinked, surprised by my abrupt order, but sat down next to me nonetheless.

“Is something the matter, Young Miss?”

“I’m very tired, Sebastian. But I’m having trouble falling asleep.” I didn’t let my tone change from its emotionless sound.

His eyes soften and he smiled just as gently.
