Miranda's pov
*6 months later*
We made an agreement when the next time comes around. Jason gets to drive it first, then Tully, then me. I was helping Cassie walk while Jason watched us on the couch. "I hate it Kasi never got to see her. Since she was in Macon when she was born." He mumbles, staring at us. "She will in 6 months." I say, forcing a smile. He smiles too, only it's genuine. I let go of Cassie's hands and she takes a step by herself. Jason catches her before she falls. "You sure are growing up fast." He says, setting her on his lap. I sit beside him. "You think she'll be a daddy's girl?" He smiles. "I know she will."
*later that day*
I was about to cook dinner when Jason grabs me around my waist. "What are you doing?" I gasp, almost dropping the pot in my hand. He pulls it from my hand and sets it down. "What's-" But he cuts me off with a hard kiss. I wrap my arms around his neck. We were kissing for like five minutes before one hand reached up under my shirt. "Not with the kids in the house." I hiss. He laughs. "The kids ain't in the house. Luke's got 'em for us." "Oh in that case." I whisper, letting go of his hand. He takes my shirt off and my hands rest on his chest, unbuttoning the buttons slowly. "Oh you tease." He whispers, kissing me more. I rip it off. He picks me up and I wrap my legs around his waist.
*after*
"I think my life is back on track." He says. "I hope." I say, sitting up. He smiles. "It's great to have you back." I whisper, kissing him again.
*6 more months later*
Cassie's 1st birthday is celebrated then Jason grabs his keys. I know exactly what he's doing. I kiss him goodbye. Tully smiles and waves then his nice jumps in his lap. "Hey Cas." He says, hugging her her.
Jason's pov
I'm not even out of the drive before Kasi is sitting beside me. I smile. "So where are we going?" She asks. "I figured the old water tower." I reply, turning onto a dirt road. "Oh our first crime." Grafitti. The first time we broke the law together. We were the best brother and sister duo. We spray painted our names. "It's still there sis." "We aren't talking about our names, are we?" She asks, looking over at me. I shake my head. "Tully's wedding ring. You're still his girl. You always will be." I force myself to say. She puts a hand over mine. "I missed you Jason." I force back the tears. "I missed you too." I brake to the side of the road and hug the ghost of my dead sister. I'll never be able to let her go for good. She'll always be my sister. She'll always be my wife's right hand girl. She'll always be my best friend's girl. Some things just never change. They just can't. I drive back home and set the keys to that truck down on the table. Tully stares at them. "Was she there?" I nod. "She won't ever truley leave us, man." He hugs me and snatches the keys running out the door. I wrap my arms around Miranda's waist and kiss her. "She's gonna live forever." I say. "My sister didn't die that day. She moved on. Now she's-" She stops me with a kiss. I close my eyes and hold her tight. "There's no one I'd rather be with than with you." She whispers. "Me too baby." Tully gets home with a smile on his face. He tosses the keys to my girl. "Partners in crime are back." She says, kissing me one more time before taking her turn in the truck.
