We skipped the visit to the throne room because we were already with Grayson. Right at this very moment our only concern was fighting our way out of the castle and into the forest. Grayson explained to us that some of the recruits were in the forest waiting for us. Eli and I were taking too long to get to the throne room, so Grayson sent them ahead and came to look for us.
We were finally at the bridge to the Forest. I looked back at the burning castle and seen all the creatures fighting against one another. This was all going to change everything now. We didn't have any where to go, or at least I didn't know where we were going to go. We met up with the recruits in the middle of the forest. There was a long line of men surrounding a few carriages and some on horses. Grayson stopped infront of Eli and I and turned to face us.
"Okay, this is what you guys need to know." He took a deep breath and started spilling everything. "We are in war with the 'ROUGES'. The rouges are literally pissed off dismissed or banished creatures. They were created by a very anciet vampire."
"Okay and?" Eli pushed.
"I'm not leaving with you guys." Grayson comment put me on edge. I didn't want to leave him. He made me feel safe.
"Where are you going to go?" I basically spat out.
"I'm going to meet father over seas. He has already left, I have to tie up some loose ends and then I'm going to be there." Grayson spoke.
"You're leaving me?" I interupted him in a harsh tone. Eli took that as a sign to leave. She slipped away to talk to the other soliders.
"I'm going to be a few days and then I'll be in Sparrowlyn. My father has another castle there and he is taking all the survivors there. Including you." No matter what Grayson was staying I still had an annoyed, worries expression on my face. Grayson grabbed hold of my hands and looked me straight in the eyes. "Eli will protect you..."
"And who's gonna protect you?" I interrupted him and ripped my hands away from him.
"Hunter." Grayson pulled me into a hug and put his hands around my waist. I felt his breathe on my ear. "You have to stop being so bipolar. Its either you love me or you don't." He whispered and pulled me out of the hug.
"You're a jerk, you know that?" I couldn't help but chuckle.
"Yes. And deep down inside you care for me." He smirked and there was an awkward moment of silence. "People who care about me always end up getting hurt." Grayson took a small clear bottle out of his pocket and handed it to me. It was filled with a dark red liquid. "My blood. In case anything were to happen to you."
I hesitated to take the bottle so Grayson slipped it in my pocket. He gave a sly smirk and then turned to walk away, but I caught hold of his wrist turning him around. He looked at me confused. I'm probably going to regret this. I stepped in closer to him, placing his cheek in the palm of my hand.
"Give a little time to me." And with that I kissed him. It was a soft and everlasting kiss. Just the thought of him getting hurt terrified me. We pulled out of the smooth kiss.
"For someone your suppose to hate, you sure do kiss me a lot." He smiled against my lips.
"I could say the same to you." I smiled again. "Bye." I let him go.
"Bye."

After escaping the castle and watching Grayson leave, I got put into a carriage with Eli. Call it VIP if you must. We got to the docks a little past the village. We then borded a few wooden ships. There was about three ships. Two were filled with Servents and random guests of the castle that happened to survive the attack. The other ship had the royal subjects, and a few more important people, obviously one of which is the king himself. I happened to be on the same boat as him because of Eli.
"So you and my brother..."Eli ended the awkward silence between her and myself. We were standing on deck staring over the seas. "In love?"
"Not in love." I rolled my eyes. "We're more like two people stuck with each other." I looked at her and noticed the 'shut up' expression on her face.
"Bull shit. From what I saw today, you both are in mad love with each other." She shrugged and smiled. "Its just happens that neither of you are used to the fact and are stubborn as hell and won't admit it."
"I-I" I tried to protest but I couldn't. "I don't know what feelings I have for Grayson, but I know they are strong."
"Finally the truth." Eli smiled. "He gave you a bottle of his blood. If that doesn't show his love for you I don't know what does."
"Its just blood." I started fiddling with the bottle in my pocket.
"Vampire blood does a lot more than healing." Eli starred me in the eye. "How do you think Grayson can read your mind sometimes?" I just starred at her with a blank connection. She threw her hands up in frustration. "With the right amount of blood consumed by someone it gives you the ability to read the other person's mind. So Grayson drank your blood. A lot of it. Hence him being able to read your mind. He can't read it all the time, only sometimes. And you, you have drank his blood to heal haven't you?"
"Yeah."
"But it wasn't a lot so you cant feel the pull yet." She looked back out to the seas. "Watch. After you drink that bottle of blood you will feel the change. And when you really want to you can listen to his thoughts. Even call out to him for help mentally."
"Wow. Learn something new everyday." I looked back out to sea with her.
"And guess what, since you two our so madly in love I beat you can keep the bond open forever." She chuckled.
"What do you mean keep it open?" I raised my eyebrow.
"Vampires feed of passion. So a very powerful witch made it almost like a curse. Meaning that you need to have sex to keep it open all the time, and that will be when the listening will be around its strongest point." She laughed at the pale look on my face. "What makes it even worse is that you have to have actual feelings for the other person or it won't work. I remember a few centuries ago when people used to do this to test if they were really in love or not.."
All I could do is gulp at the amount of hot sex I would have with Grayson. Plus he's my fiancé now...
