Clip, Clop, Clip, Clop, was all that was heard from the barren streets of Thólos. Two large silvery horses were seen around the city. The beautiful beasts carried a metallic blue carriage toward the glass dome, surrounding the city and which separated Thólos from the malicious jungle outside. Metallic blue skyscrapers filled the city reflecting an eerie blue light from the darkening sun.
Jayla brushed her dirty blonde hair away from her eyes and watched the carriage closely from the shadows of an alley way. She fixed her eyes on the carriage, wishing that she too could exit the strict city and be free. Free, from the harsh rules that citizens are forced to follow. Free, from all the technology that creates new terrors that rushed throughout their mind daily. All Jayla wanted was to do whatever she wanted without being forced to do it.
Sighing, Jayla walked away from the street and headed to her home. It was located 100 feet above the ground with a transparent tube hanging down from it. She neared the tube and pressed her hand on a fingerprint scanner. After a couple seconds she removed her hand and was shot upwards. She landed on her metallic blue colored carpet and as always the home helper said, "Welcome home Jayla. Here is a list of chores." As the voice said that, there was a beeping noise coming from her back pocket. She pulled out her thin glass I.D. card, and on it was a list of chores that her mother wanted her to do.
Her restrictive I.D. card could call anywhere in the country, play holographic games, use the Blue net, and store everyday items up to 2 tons. Not to mention the automatic messages that you could send to others. The only drawback was that the I.D. card, that held all your personal information, also delivered all conversations and activities that were done on the I.D. Card, as a report back to the government. Leaving the citizens very little freedom to do what they wanted without being caught.
Leaving the citizens virtually and physically trapped in the city until the day they died.
